Chapter 20 | I love her hate

Hudson Celeste POV
Menton, France

I look over the map, analyzing any opening my men could entire.

"What about over there, you hardly get any security in the back entrance" Ash suggests.  i assume his dark curly hair was still dripping of water from taking a bath.

I shake my head, "You're not wrong but now all of the south of France are aware of us trying to take over so we will have to find another way" Ash looks down at the map in frustration.

My head is spinning right now. It's the middle of the night and I'm tired of training all day. I fight the urge to jump into my bed and sleep for an entire day.

A soldier comes into the tent. It was Nicolas, he was older than me and Ash combined. He worked with my father for many years and taught me to fight when I was a child. I advised him to retire and go live with his family in the countryside but he insists that he is still useful to me.

"Your majesty" he puts his fist on his chest.

"Sergeant Nicolas" I say and Ash repeats me.

"There is a letter that has been sent to you" he takes out a small envelope from his pocket. It was brown and had the royal stamp symbol imprinted in the front.

Immediately my mind ponders any family member who is willing to possibly waste their time writing a letter to me.  They all know I'm busy at the moment, so they wouldn't dare write me a letter.

"Who is it from?" I ask Nicolas

His face brightens up a bit which creeped me out a little, "It is from your highness Of Monaco"

I was startled and confused, "My wife?" I question him again

He nods his head in agreement.

Hesitantly I walk closer to Nicolas. He hands me the letter and walks out of the tent with a cheerful smile on his face.

I scan at the back and front of the envelope. Her name and title was beautifully written in the back.

From Queen Mary Celeste of Monaco

"Well? Are you going to read it lad?" I look up to see Ash hovering over me with a big smirk on his face.

I roll my eyes, "Only if you give me some privacy" I shove him away.

Ash scoffs and leaves the tent in defeat.

I go over to my desk, where a candle is lit and start to rip open the envelope. I reach for the paper inside. Once my hands held the letter, I opened it up and started reading.

Dear King Hudson Celeste,

    My Dear Husband, in all probability you are deeming that i, your wife, is writing this letter to express my utmost desire for you. If that is so then you are wrong. I was forced to write this letter to you. Your grandmother and Aunts insisted that a  healthy marriage is one with communication. I could still feel their presence to the rear side of me. I need you back home. Not for me but for my well-being. I do not long for you. I just cannot breathe without your family down my back. Commanding my every move and if I do anything wrong they will surely never make me forget it. Do NOT get me started on your cousins. Your father on the other hand is a silent and busy man. The only time we were  acquaintances with one another was when he arrived at the palace.Your mother tells me not to disturb him, he is not a people person. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

I sit on the chair, digesting every word I just read. My hand balances the letter ontop of the lit candle. Before it could go in flames I felt a chuckle coming out of my mouth. One chuckle turned into me laughing hysterically. This girl couldnt be more funnier. Her every word was written in hate yet, it has me crying out in laughter. She despises me so much that I don't know if it's annoying or funny.
