It is a warm July evening in the Gulf of Mexico. Two brothers Tom and Tuck have been playing at the beach all day playing games and chasing fish. As the sun begins to set on the vast Atlantic Ocean, their mom begins to pack up the umbrella and towels. "Tom! Tuck! Time to go!" yells their mother. "The first one to shore gets shotgun," Tuck yells as he begins to swim back. Knowing the stakes, Tom follows quickly. They splash and yell as they head to shore. As they approach about 50 yards of shore, a large dorsal fin emerges behind Tuck. Tom yells for Tuck but the shark grabs Tom and pulls him under by the arm. Tom stops and looks around in shock. The water is calm but he can feel a turbulent flow of water below him caused by the commotion of the shark. Suddenly, Tuck breaks the surface. Tom begins to approach Tuck, noticing that Tuck's left arm has been ripped clear off. When Tom is about five feet from Tuck, Tuck is pulled back under by the shark. Their mother, noticing the commotion, yells for Tom to swim. Seeing no other option, Tom begins to race towards shore. Tom gets to about 25 yards from shore when the same dorsal fin emerges to his left. He tries to pick up the pace, but the shark easily catches up and clamps down on his arm. The shark drags Tom under the water. Tom kicks and punches the shark but this does virtually nothing to the viscous beast. As a last resort, Tom jabs his thumb into the shark's eye. At last, he's free. He breaks the surface, gasping for air, however, knowing his time for rest is limited he heads quickly for shore. Every stroke and kick feels harder and harder as if something is holding him down. He makes it to shore where his mother rushes over to him. She applies pressure to the wound and waits for help. Unfortunately, Tom succumbs to his injuries and dies of blood loss.
