Leanna's heart groaned, the pitter-pattering against her ribcage strong, like darkness being plunged into her by a blunt knife.
She clenches her fingers hard, trying to swallow the painful memories of her battered past.
Ace's eyes flickered with darkness, laced with anger and denial when his eyes settled on his mate.
The only woman who has been on his mind since the past three years; like a siren call shattering his soul, leaving no pieces behind.
Hate, Anger, Betrayal, Love. Everything wrangled down on him at once, devouring the walls that took years to be built.
They were both looking at eachother, the intensity of their eyes so strong that it could fracture the walls of this room into nothing, but crumbling scarps.
Ace takes a deep breath, trying to tame down the whispers of malignant flowing through his mind. His wolf, Leo growling with threats underneath.
He was having a hard time wrapping his head around everything, thinking she came here on purpose in order to torture him.
However he couldn't be more wrong, more mistaken.
The love that Ace held for Leanna was so strong, yet miserable that it was impossible to escape from it's depth.
Despite the bitterness of what she did three years ago, his pathetic heart insisted on beating around the rhythm of the same tormented curse of her name.
But he wasn't gonna forgive her, it was impossible to forgive her.
"Get the fuck out of here!" Ace growled at Leanna, whose mind was blurred with disbelief.
She just stood there, frozen. Detached from her own body, unable to move her arms and legs according to her inclination.
Ace could not handle this. An uncontrolled explosion of emotions clawed at his skin, agony bolting freely on his skin.
He knew if she stayed here a little longer, his chain of steel will break apart, and he won't be able to control himself.
"KAYDEN" Ace's loud voice reverberates over the space like timbre of hell, as he calls out for his second in command.
Within minutes, Kayden was here but his pupils shook with haunted teratoma as he looked at Leanna. How the hell is this possible? How can she be here?
The bedeviled look on Ace's face alarmed Kayden, letting him know exactly what he had to do.
He grabbed Leanna by the arm, and took her outside before Ace gave in to the demons looming over his head.
Leanna was out of the room but what about the man who brought her? He was as equally guilty as her.
Ace was angry. And he needed someone to object his anger out on.

K A Y D E N took Leanna out of the room and sets her free, his shoulders clamped with tension.
"Why did you come here? You already made your decision three years ago, stop playing with Ace's life." Kayden screamed at Leanna, unleashing a mass of accusations on her way.
Leanna's skin heated with both shame, and pain as she stared at Kayden. He seemed so foreign, so spiteful, that it was a cause of pain in itself.
Kayden was the only one who knew she was Ace's mate, besides his family. She trusted him, they were close.
It's hard to believe that so much has fallen apart in timeline of those three years.
"I didn't come here on purpose." Leanna manged to speak, but the inculpate glint hanging above Kayden's eyes made it clear that he didn't believe her.
