That night, Leanna endured one of the most horrific moments of her life. The shadows of the darkness were deeply buried with the taste of her tears.

The dark faded with her sobs, and the early sun arosed with muted brightness. Despite the chirping of the morning, Leanna couldn't really sync with the bliss.

Members of Blazing Sun were gathered around the dining table, enjoying their morning breakfast.

The clinks of fork, and plates vibrated against the walls, along with the drifting sound of chit-chat, and laughter.

"And that's how I taught that spoiled brat a lesson." Ashton proudly finished yet another story from last night, which at this point, his family members were only pretending to be listening to.

Walter's teeth were tightly clenched, trying hard to swallow away the rage with his son's ignorant behaviour. Royce just shook his head, amusement ghosting his expression.

"You shouldn't have done that, Ashton. He is the future alpha." Serenity, Royce's mate spoke in a light tone, from her seat besides Royce.

After the death of Ashton's mother, Serenity had pretty much taken the role of the Luna. Serenity was a jewel for Ashton and his family, since she was the only woman left in their relation after his mother's death.

"Come on. You have to agree that he deserved that." Ashton said with a tone dipped in mischief, very much not aware of his father's anger at him.

"I guess we can't deny that." Serentiy replied, and a trace of dry smile appeared on Walter's face.

"Dad, even Serenity is taking his side." Royce puts his arms around Serenity's shoulders, wrapping her in his warmth. "There is no point in being angry now."

He finished, while trying hard to suppress his laughter. Ashton, finally realizing why his father was so quiet, tried to make the situation better.

Tension tainted the air for a second, before it evaporated by the slash of Walter's smile.
"What am I to do with you all." He said, his shoulders starting to relax by the energy of his family.

The breakfast table glowed with liveliness once more, everybody now continuing their row of prattling. Well everybody except for Leanna, given she wasn't even present at the table.

Ashton, finally soaking in the absence of Leanna's presence from the breakfast table, excused himself to go and find her.

At the same time, a servant came to Walter, and informed him about the arrival of a very special, yet unexpected guest.

Tension scrawled all over the front of Walter's face, visible pressue lurking at the edge of his features. The guest was none other than Ace, and Walter knows that the only reason why Ace would visit him had to be something urgent, and serious.

Ace sat on a chair opposite to Walter, a serious expression on his face. Silence formed a thick strain, compressing the air around them.

"So, how may I help you?" Walter asked, his eyes etched with the power of an upcoming typhoon. The air around them was intense, a war of nerves cascading around the two.

"You have something that belongs to me. And I am here to take it back." A dangerous spark plunged the soft nature of Ace's voice, lining in the form of an unsaid threat.

Walter raised an eyebrow, an edge of tautness bruising his skin. "And what might that be?" He asked, slightly leaning back into his chair.

"My mate."
