Keefe could not tell you how horrible the orge bacteria tasted. "Edaline" he whined.
"What is it now Keefe?" Edaline called back.
"Do you have any delicious dessert of yours left?" Keefe inquires as he trudged down the stairs. Keefe rounds the final level of stairs nearly running into Grady. "Morning Grady-o" Keefe flashes Grady a grin. Grady narrows his eyes and stalks past Keefe without saying a word.
Keefe could hear Grady muttering words like "tHaT bOy" and "bad influence", but Keefe shrugs it off and walked into the kitchen.
A box of Prattles sat on the edge of the bench. Edaline points to it "Those are for you guys" She turns back to the bench to continue prepping whatever delicious food she was making. Ro rushes forward opening the box, she frowns picks up the drawstring bag that was sitting on top of the lollies and places it on the bench. Keefe reached over grabbing the bag and opening it. He pulls out the pin. Crested on the pin was a Moonlark, etched on the back was #1. Keefe smiles and fastens it on his cloak.
"Maybe you could share them Ro" Edaline says walking into the dining room. Ro sighed and begrudgingly held out the box to Keefe. He grabs a handful and places a couple in his mouth. "Tanks Edaline your da bes" Keefe says with his mouth full of prattles. Edaline shakes her head but her eyes sparkled with happiness.
"Something smells good" Keefe turned to see Sophie making her way into the kitchen. She was wearing a magenta top with black leggings and knee-high boots. She sat down next to Keefe. "Is there any Mallowmelt left?" Sophie asked Edaline.
Edaline frowns and raises her eyebrow at Keefe and Ro. "I gave Keefe and Ro an entire tray to share with you."
Keefe raises his hands in mock surrender. "I gave her the last piece does that not count" Edaline chuckles and snaps her fingers, a piece of mallowmelt appears in front of Sophie her face lit up.
She snatches the piece up while side-eyeing Keefe then starts to eat. She swallows then asks "So what's the council meeting for." Keefe shrugs.
"I'm not sure this time Sophie" Edaline says then she walks out of the room.
Keefe snorts of course this time she doesn't know, Sophie hasn't defied the council's orders or done anything against the law. Then again she also hasn't blown anything up. Keefe smacks his leg chuckling.
"What's soooo funny right now Keefe," Sophie says sarcastically. Her arms are crossed and her face scrunched up. She looked cute when she did that. A/N I did not like writing that, I was cringing.
"Well Foster, if you ask me the council's probably gonna ask you to do something for them" Keefe leans back on his chair.
"And what makes you think that?" Sophie inquires raising an eyebrow.
"Well Foster, in the past few months you haven't defied or ignored orders from them, you also haven't broken any laws. Oh, you also haven't blown anything up as well" Keefe states "So I'd assume they want you to do something for them" Sophie's face went bright rad. She raised her hand to her face and tugged out an eyelash. Keefe grabbed her wrist "Hey." She looks at him. "It's going to be alright Sophie" Her brown eyes meet his ice-blue ones. "Thanks, Keefe" She leans forward and hugs Keefe.
Keefe was surprised at first but then hugged her back. "You're welcome Foster"
"SOPHIE ELIZABETH FOSTER!!!!!!!!!!!"
A/N Phew glad that's done. I was able to continue writing today and post it. I am going away for the next few days so I wont be posting anything. However I will write some more while I'm away. I have a pen and notebook all ready. I'll mostly be planning stuff though cause this is gonna be a HUGE story, the Preface hasn't even happened yet.
Sorry for making you guys wait for the next chapter but it will be well worth it.
