Avoid
Days ago I made up my mind.
I will ask Aello what happened nine years ago, though I totally remember everything. I just need to hear it again, from the very beginning, until the very end.
Based on what Nana has said, I teamed up with my uncle. Plano daw namin ang nangyari. If that's what they think why does Aello hang out with Julie months ago? Kung plano talaga ni Tito bakit nakakayanan niya pang makipag-usap kay Julie? And it looks like they have a good relationship together, mukhang magkaibigan nga 'eh, o sobra pa.
Bakit ba kung kailan kong sinusubukang mabuhay muli tsaka sila bumabalik? I wanted to start anew but it seems like the world is stopping me.
If only I could easily bury the past. I would do it without a single doubt.
"Order niyo po?" Tanong ko sa table ka-tabi ng table niya. I noticed the waiters were a bit busy that's why I decided to help.
"Dalawang beer lang" Sambit ng lalaki. Tumango agad ako. I told the waiters about the guy's order and came back to my place.
Napansin ko rin ang mag asawang nag hihintay na ma-assist sila kaya nilapitan ko na rin. Wala rin nag a-assist kay Aello pero hinayaan ko lang.
I took a couple of orders, gave them to the waiters, and got back to my place.
I did that a few times, hindi ko talaga pinapansin si Aello. Nakakapag-taka rin na mula kanina wala pang lumalapit sa kanya na nga waitress.
Ten minutes have passed and he's still sitting there, waiting. Kumunot ang noo kong nag hanap sa mga waiters. They're nowhere to be found.
Nubayan, Yumi, Under staff ka beh!
Huminga ako ng malalim at lumapit sa table niya. He cleared his throat when he saw me walking towards him. Umayos rin siya ng upo.
The black polo looks good on him. Mukhang amoy baby cologne siya.
"T-thats all?" My voice cracked. Oh my gosh.
"Yes, please," He said softly. I nodded and ran to the kitchen.
Damn, I'm so nervous.
"Saang table toh?"
"Kay Aeacus 'yan," Sambit ko kay Yumi.
"Ikaw na magbigay. Please, may ginagawa lahat" Kumamot ako ng ulo at tumango. Pasalamat siya boss siya. Wala akong choice pag siya umutos.
Agad nilang natapos ang kanyang order. Mahigpit ang hawak ko sa tray. My heart is beating so fast. The tray is shaking because of my shaky hands. Anong nangyayari sa akin?
"Ito na," I tried to sound cheerful but blood came rushing to my face when our eyes met...
I stared at him for a few seconds.
"Aruna? Are you okay?" Eto na naman siya sa palagi niyang tanong. Can't he rephrase that sentence a little? It's getting annoying to hear the same words from him. "Why don't you take a rest first?"
"Kanina pa ako nagpapahinga, iniisip ko lang ang mga babayarin..." I smiled.
"Ahhh, I can help-"
"Bye! Tawag na ako ng boss ko! Wait, Yumi!"
"Ano 'ka? 'di naman kita tinatawag?" Yumi said when I entered the kitchen.
"Ahh talaga? Sira na ata pandinig ko"
I have to do all of this nonsense just to avoid that guy. At bakit nandito na naman 'yun? He keeps bothering me at work. I don't know how to approach him, dapat I'll treat him nicely, but because he has a girlfriend I can't do that anymore. I have to distance myself. I don't wanna be called a kabit noh.
