It was safe to say that Gianna was proud of herself.

Many people around her had questioned her on why she didn't have a drink in her hand like she normally used to have at parties, and she put her foot down every time.

She was proud of herself for not giving in to what other people said about her.

"Why aren't you drinking?"

"Don't be so boring."

"It's just a drink."

She wished her mother had that kind of willpower, it would've saved Gianna a lifetime of pain.

"Remember that time we crashed a Pogue party two summers ago?" Marisa chuckled, Gianna grimacing at the memory while most in their circle gasped.

Amelia groaned, "I wouldn't do that even if they paid me."

"Oh, it wasn't that bad," Gianna defended, "their booze could be a little better though."

The girls comment earned a bubble of laughter from the group, a circle composed of multiple people Gianna hadn't seen since last summer who were currently sat in Toppers upstairs living room.

"Or the time you made out with Toppers potential killer," Tiffany slurred on her words, speaking about the time Marisa, on a dare, given by Gianna, had kissed John B Routledge.

"That was before I knew he was a psycho!" The raven exclaimed, waving her hands in the air.

Feeling her phone vibrate against her hand, Gianna picked it up, her small giggle fading out once she read the message she had just received

Sarah Cameron

SOS!! Can u guys please give me a ride home?

"Isa," Gianna discreetly showed Marisa the message, not wanting to cause any unwanted commotion or drama.

"Call her," the raven whispered, loud enough for only Gianna, who sat right beside her, to hear.

Pressing the small phone icon next to Sarah's name, it only took two rings for the honey blonde to be able to hear Sarah's voice on the other line.

Getting up from the couch and getting to somewhat of a more secluded corner, she pressed a finger up to her ear. "What's going on? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, just got into a stupid fight with Topper." Sarah's tone sounded withered and low. "I'll totally understand if you guys can't give me a ride, I shouldn't even be asking you in the first place-"

"Hey. Don't feel bad. We were already planning on leaving anyway," Gianna semi-lied. It was true that Sarah shouldn't feel bad, it wasn't true that she and Marisa were planning on leaving.

Oh well.

"Meet us outside, I just need to find my purse and then we'll get you home."

"Thanks, Gia," Sarah thanked, her voice already sounding a tad more uplifted.

Hanging up, Gianna approached the small group huddled around the coffee table, tapping Marisa on the shoulder.
