Chapter 24

Ali's pov

The room was silent except for the peaceful sound of birds chirping through the window.

Some of the sunlight pierced through my curtains waking me from my light sleep.

I rolled over to look at the alarm clock and it read 8:43 am. I had planned on waking up at 8 this morning but I decided to sleep in a bit.

Today I was going on my first official date with Luke. We've gone on like mini double dates but never a proper extravagant date. Well I guess it's not that "extravagant" but it'll be a really cute date.

He plans on taking me on a picnic date. I've never been on a picnic date and I'm excited to see what it's like.

I decided I should probably get out of bed and eat breakfast. I walked downstairs into the kitchen where Ashton was sitting eating a bowl of cereal. I decided on just having a bowl of cereal too.

"So, I hear you're going on a date with Luke tonight, huh?" Ashton said out of the blue.

"Yeah..." I trailed off, "do you ever "warn" Luke that if he hurts me then you'll hurt him?" I spilled out.

"Well... I mean, I trust Luke plus you and I have known him since we were at least 7. But to answer your question yes, I have threatened/warned him to not hurt you," Ashton said making me smile.

"Awe Ash. You're so sweet," I said giving him a tight hug.

"Shut up," he teased pushing me off of him.

"So where's he taking you?" Ashton said before taking a spoonful of his cereal.

"On a picnic, I don't know where though."

"Be careful. Use protection," Ashton joked.

"Ew Ash, too far," I laughed while walking up to the sink to to wash off my bowl.

"You better not need to use protection. I'll kill Luke before he touches you."

"Yeah I know you will."

Sometimes I feel like me and Ashton are too close.

I decided to pamper myself today to prepare for my date with Luke.

So I took and bubble bath, shaved my legs, did a face mask, and other various pampering things.

Once I was done with all that I realized the time was now 1:27. Luke said he would pick me up around 5:30 or 6 so I had a while to relax.

Before I knew it it was 4 so I decided to start getting ready.

I did my everyday makeup and curled my hair, which doesn't take me but like 30 minutes.

Now time for my outfit. I had already picked out what I was going to wear. I was wearing a white lace dress and my brown sandals. The dress wasn't too fancy but it also wasn't too casual. It was perfect.

I added some accessories like a bracelet, earrings, and a necklace.

I decided to send a picture to Becca to see what she thought.

To Becca- you like?

From Becca- aww Ali, you look gorgeous.

To Becca- thanks :) I hope Luke likes it. text ya later, bye.

Okay well at least now I know I look good. Expect the only person I know that will be completely honest, is Ashton.

I went downstairs to show Ashton my outfit.

"Hey Ash?"

"Yeah?"

"Do I look okay?" I asked lifting the bottom of my dress up a little bit.

"Yes! That dress is so cute," he said in a girly voice making me laugh.

"Yeah I know," I giggled, "but thanks Ash," I smiled.

The time was now 5:20, so Luke will either be here in 10 or 40 minutes. Maybe I should call him and ask.

I pulled out my phone to ring up Luke.

"Hey, I'm ready when you are," I said to Luke into the phone.

"Okay I'll be there in 10," Luke replied.

"Okay, see ya soon," I said back ending the call.

I decided to just sit on the couch and watch some TV with Ashton for the remainder of the time.

*10 minutes later*

I heard a knock on the door. Once I opened the door I saw the most gorgeous thing ever. Luke was wearing a button up shirt with, of course, his black skinny jeans. I mean I didn't suspect he'd be able to abandon his skinny jeans. He's Luke.

"Ali, you look beautiful," Luke said making me blush like crazy. Just then Ashton walked up behind me and rested his arm on my shoulder.

"Hey Ashton," Luke said looking at Ashton.

"Listen Luke, she will be home by no later then 10:30 and you will not hurt her or disappoint her. Ya hear?"

"Ashton... not now," I said through clenched teeth.

"I'm just saying," he said walking away.

"No problem," Luke hollered back to Ashton. Then we finally left.

We drove for maybe 20 minutes before we were there. Luke rushed over to my door to let me out of the car like the gentleman he is and I smiled at him in return.

We walked through the woods until Luke stopped and said we were here. We were now standing in a big patch of grass.

He laid out the picnic blanket and sat the basket on top of it.

"You may sit now," Luke said.

"Why thank you," I laughed.

"So what kind of food did you bring?" I asked being really hungry.

"Oh, the basics, sandwiches, watermelon, some sparkling grape juice," Luke said in a fancy person accent that I can't really describe.

"Oh, and other various fruits," he added.

"So how'd you find this place?" I asked.

"Well when I was little, my dad used to bring me here all the time to fish because there's a pond farther into the woods. As I grew up I used to come here all the time to just think, ya know? No one really knows about it, so it's kinda secluded and peaceful. I really like it."

"That's sweet, and I really like it too," I added while looking around.

Luke and I began to eat our dinner. By the time we were done it was late because we had talked a lot in between eating.

At this point Luke and I were laying down on the blanket looking up at the stars. It was only 9 but it gets pretty dark pretty quick here.

"Ooh see that," Luke pointed to the sky, "that's the Big Dipper."

"Oh yeah I see it, so that must be the Little Dipper," I said pointing at a different part of the sky.

"Yep," Luke replied laughing. We both just laughed at our banter about the stars and then there was a moment of silence between us.

"Ali?" Luke said breaking the silence.

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too, Luke."
