The drug was something new and exciting, unlike anything he'd ever tried before. The music was loud and the drug was making the room spin. He decides that he likes this drug. It does a great job of taking him away. Does a great job of helping to forget. He loves it. He'll keep using this drug because it makes him feel good.
The picture was just that. A picture. She didn't mean for it to get so much praise, and she certainly didn't expect to continue taking pictures like it. She didn't think it was something that could get her into college. But it was. That single photograph changed a life. Now when she takes pictures she feels alive and empowered and confident. She keeps taking them because it makes her feel good.
