His mother's face was covered in tears and fear. His father had only anger on his face. Gitae stepped in and pulled his mother into his arms. "What the fuck do you think you're doing right now?" Gitae asked angrily while glaring at his father.

"You stay the fuck out of this." His father refuted while angrily pointing his finger at Gitae.

"The fuck I will. You were about to hit my mother." He held her tighter in his arms. She continued sobbing lightly in his arms.

"Don't you dare speak to your father like that."

"You think I'll respect you after all of this? Fuck no."

"Son, stay out of this." His mom tried to coax him while pulling him away from his father. "Mom and dad were just having a little argument."

"No, mom. I'm tired of this."

"All of this is your fault." His father argued. "If you would just man up and step in to help your mother with the family business none of this would be happening."

"I said I'm not gonna fucking do that! It's my life, I'll choose how I want to spend it." His father slapped him. Gitae gritted his teeth before facing his father again. His mom couldn't step in since fear had overtaken her entire body.

"You insolent brat. You're too fucking spoiled. Your selfishness is causing your mother all of this pain."

Gitae scoffed. "You're one to talk, you fucking freeloading piece of useless human shit." His mom tried to pull him back but he resisted and stood his ground against his father.

"Please, Gitae. Don't." She begged him.

"No, mom." He faced his mom. "I'm fucking tired of him taking advantage of your soft heart. You are too precious for this piece of trash." He faced his father. "I don't want you near my mother ever again. Fuck off." He glared right into his father's eyes who also did the same. Gitae didn't back off.

His father looked at his mother who looked away immediately. She didn't look at him until he gave in and left angrily. His mom sighed as she held on to Gitae tightly.

He sat her down on the couch. He brought her a glass of water and sat with her until she calmed down later at night. "Mom, how long has this been going on?" He asked gently, still holding her in his arms.

She sighed. "A while." Gitae furrowed his brow.

"Did he ever hit you?" She nodded. "That's it, you're divorcing him as soon as possible." He gently patted her back. A little later he put her to bed. He watched over her sleeping peacefully. Hundreds of questions came flooding into his head.

'I can't believe this. Exactly how long has he been beating my mother? That piece of trash. Why did it take me so long to see how bad he was treating her. I really should've paid more attention to her when we were abroad together. I also should've told that motherfucker to get lost earlier.' He sighed before leaving the room. He sat on the couch, in the dark, the moonlight was the only source of light in the penthouse.

He then remembered that he had forgotten to inform Sunwoo about his arrival. He called him. "H-hi." Sunwoo answered after a few seconds of his phone ringing.
