Sheryna tried to keep herself busy with work, hobbies, and spending time with friends, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of rejection. Every time she saw James, she felt a pang in her heart, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to hide her feelings from him.

One day, while they were working on a case together, James noticed that Sheryna seemed distant and preoccupied. "Is everything okay, Sheryna?" he asked, his voice full of concern.

Sheryna looked up at him, her eyes filled with tears. "I'm sorry, James," she said, her voice choked with emotion. "I've been trying to move on, but I can't seem to shake off my feelings for you."

James looked at her, his expression full of sympathy. "I understand, Sheryna," he said, his voice gentle. "But I still don't feel the same way."

Sheryna nodded, feeling a sense of sadness wash over her once again. "I know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just needed to tell you how I felt."

James reached out and took her hand, his touch reassuring. "I appreciate your honesty, Sheryna," he said, his voice full of warmth. "And I don't want this to affect our working relationship."

Sheryna nodded, feeling a sense of relief that James wasn't angry or upset with her. "Thank you, James," she said, her voice soft.

After that conversation, Sheryna realized that she needed to take a break from matchmaking and focus on herself. She needed to heal from the rejection and figure out what she truly wanted in life. She spent the next few weeks exploring new hobbies, traveling to new places, and spending time with loved ones.

As she focused on herself, Sheryna realized that she had been so focused on finding love for others that she had neglected her own needs and desires. She made a promise to herself to prioritize her own happiness and to never settle for anything less than what she truly wanted.

Eventually, Sheryna found herself feeling more content and fulfilled than she had in a long time. She knew that there was still a part of her heart that belonged to James, but she was okay with that. She had learned to accept rejection and to move on, and she was excited to see what the future held for her.
