~Randheer agrees to marriage~
•Randheer POVI was zoned out when a voice broke the silence.
"Ranaji, Rajmata has requested your presence in her chambers." An attendee spoke.
I got up and walked towards my mother's chambers. An attendee opened the door of her chamber. She was sitting on the bed.
She glanced at me and with a subtle gesture, she beckoned me to come closer. Patting the space on the bed next to her, she wordlessly invited me to sit beside her, and I willingly obliged.
"रणधीर, अब समय आ गया है कि तुम अपने विवाह के लिए उपयुक्त वर ढूंढो और राज्य के प्रति अपना कर्तव्य पूरा करो।"
"Randheer, the time has come for you to find a suitable match for your marriage and fulfil your duty to the kingdom. She said looking into my eyes.
"माँ-सा, मैं आपकी चिंता की सराहना करता हूँ, लेकिन मुझे लगता है कि आपको पता होगा कि बापूसा का निधन अभी एक महीने पहले ही हुआ है।"
"Maa-sa, I appreciate your concern, but I believe you are aware that Bapusa passed away just a month ago, I said in an angered tone.
"My child, the stability of the kingdom relies on the continuation of our royal lineage. God forbid if something happens to you, brother is still immature for all this. I am no longer young and capable of handling all this. You need to bring a Queen." She shared her sorrow.
"Maa-sa, can we maybe delay this decision a bit? Till the situation is under control and we gain some stability in the realm." I attempt to make her understand.
"The longer we wait, the more uncertainty we introduce. Consider the greater good, my son, and trust that love may blossom where duty leads. Happiness often comes from fulfilling responsibilities. Trust in the decisions made for the kingdom's well-being." She explained, convincing me.
Not wanting to disagree more with Maa-sa, I said yes to her idea about my marriage. Maa-sa then began looking for a perfect princess to be her daughter-in-law.
Just in a month, Maa-sa found a perfect princess for the kingdom, Rajkumari Vidhirani Indravardan Das, princess of Sumedhkhand.
Sitting in front of the havan of my Vivah, I was waiting for my bride to come. My gaze froze as I found her walking in my direction.
She was looking gorgeous in her red attire. Her anklets giggled as she walked towards the mandap and sat next to me as Panditji indicated to her to do so.
I was caught in a whirlwind of emotions as my gaze once again fell upon her with curiosity. Her face was covered with a veil.
I was intrigued by her grace and composure. In the sacred rituals of our vivah, the air is filled with the fragrance of incense and the rhythmic chants of prayers.
As I delicately filled the vermillion in the partition of her hair, a profound sense of commitment washed over me. A small amount gently fell on her nose as I saw her eyes watered.
As the sacred fire flickered in the background, we walked around the holy fire.
It was now time for us to head back to Raajgarh. She bent down to touch her father's feet. He brought her up and hugged her.
"Hamari bacchi, sada khush raho. Hamara aashirvaad sadaiv aapke sath hai."
"My daughter, always stay happy. My blessings are always with you." He said. He turned in my direction and spoke.
"Jawai-sa, hamara heera aapko saunp rahe hai. Hamari Vidhi ka khayal rakhna."
"I am giving you our rarest gem, son-in-law. Take care of our Vidhi."
"Bilkul Maharaj, abhi vah sirf aapki Rajkumari nahi balki hamari Rani bhi hai. "
"Of course, Maharaj. Now she is not just your princess but also our queen." I assured him.
"Oh do not call me that. We are family now, call me father. " He exclaimed. I gave him a slight nod and turned to Vidhirani.
"Aap apna saman baandh lijiye, hume aaj hi nikalna hai."
"Get your stuff packed, we are leaving today itself. " I told her.
"Ji", she whispered in a shaky voice, making my gaze soften a little. I walked back to my chamber to get changed into a comfortable outfit.
"Hukum, palanquins are ready to depart. " an attendee knocked before informing me.
"Is Ranisa well seated?" I asked him while getting out of the chamber.
"Ji Hukum" he answered. I gave him a nod and strolled to Pratap, my horse.
"Hukum." A manly voice uttered.
"What's the matter, Shashwath?" I questioned after recognizing the voice and turned around to face him. He joined his hands and bow at me with respect.
"Hukum, our informer has come with some news." He handed me the scroll.
You would be disappointed to learn that Maharaj's death was intended. And our enemies are your close ones. The culprits are around the realm. Somebody is making holes
in their plate.

A storm of fury rose within my body after reading the scroll. Of course, I knew Bapusa did not die naturally; he was healthy and strong enough. But my people betrayed me?"Devraj ko sandesh bheja jaaye, ki rajya ki seema par pehra dugna kar diya jaaye. Koi bhi bina hamari anumati ke rajya sa bahar nahi jaana chahiye. Hum kal dopehar tak rajya mei pravesh kar chuke honge."
"Send a message to Devraj to double the security at the borders of the kingdom. Nobody leaves or enters the kingdom without my approval. We shall arrive there by tomorrow afternoon." I ordered him.
"Shashwath yeh karya tum swayam karna, hum tumhare aur Ashwath ke siva kisi par bharosa nahi hain."
"Shashwath, do this work yourself; I do not trust anybody else with this except you and Ashwath," I ordered him. Indicating Ashwath to blow the shell, I sat on Pratap. Ashwath blew the shell, notifying all to start walking.
