After unpacking all of my things and making up my bed, I set up all of the little decoration things I brought on top of the dresser, including my trusty camera and an extra box of film to use if I happen to run out. Then, I taped up all of my Polaroids that I've ever taken on the wall inside of my bunk, making the shape of a heart with them and including the ones of the sunset and the ones of my room and house. Then, I helped Alison neatly put her things away and made our beds to my standards. With our touch, the room didn't look bad at all. It almost felt like home, our home away from home you could say. I looked at Ali and we nodded our heads in agreement, then she rolled out a nice black and white chevron rug in front of our bed, making our room feel even better.
For dinner, since there weren't that many people anyways, we just ate our ready-to-eat meals after heating them with the heaters that were supplied. Calum, Alison, Kyle, and I shared a table furthest away from all of our parents, who were sipping on a bottle of wine by passing it back and forth.

"So what compartment are you on?" Calum questioned.
"B. You?"
"A. On the right." He told me with a wink.
"Yeah I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that." Kyle said.
"Me too! Gross!" Alison agreed.
"Come on you guys he was joking." I gave them the most dramatic eye-roll I could muster.
"Maybe." Calum said in a flirty voice.
"Well, I'm not sure about you all but I'm exhausted. I'm gonna head up to my room." I said, yawning a little at the end.
"Me too." Ali said.

I told my parents and everyone else goodnight, and we sulked out of the cafeteria and walked down the hallway that led us into the rows of compartments. I stumbled into the one marked 'B' and once Alison came into our room, then, I slide the door shut and take some comfortable pajamas out of our comfy clothes drawer, and begin to change into them, but when I take off my shorts, a small note falls out of the pocket.

Come to compartment E at 10. -CH

I laughed a little at the thought of how he had gotten that in my pocket. He came up to hug me before we got to the cafeteria and that must have been when he slipped it in my pocket. Since I was already in my sweatpants and a comfy crop top, I just slipped on an oversized hoodie and told Alison I was going to the bathroom. The bathroom was near Compartment C, so I was hoping Alison would just assume it was taking me a long time to get there and back, and not come look for me.

I padded through the hallway, and eventually neared my destination. It was only 9:50, so I hoped that I wasn't the first one of us to arrive. When I neared the door, it almost looked as if there weren't even any lights on inside, so when I opened the door and saw Calum, it gave me a mini heart attack and I nearly jumped straight out if my skin.

"Oh my God! Calum you scared me!"
"Well I was supposed to meet you here, unless you know another Calum."
"Well you put your initials on the note, you dork. I knew it was from you."
"Yeah, yeah. Don't judge me."
"Hey um, can you maybe turn the lights on?"
"No."
"What the- why not?"
"Because they're saving electricity and since no one is staying here right now they don't wanna waste it."
"Oh okay that makes sense. So why did you wanna see me? Cause I'm exhausted from today and I'm really looking forward to going to sleep..."
"I don't know. If you wanna I'll just walk you back to your compartment."
"No it's okay Calum. I want to stay here."

I leaned my head on his shoulder and he pulled me closer to him, enclosing me in his warmth. Usually I wouldn't like that, because I don't have any luck with boys, but I think Calum is just being a friend right now. Friends comfort each other, right?

With my head on Calum's chest, I felt safer than I had since we were still at home. It just felt nice to relax, especially without having to organize everything just to relax myself. I was nearly asleep when I realized that I had told my sister that I had to go to the bathroom, and I hoped she hadn't waited up for me.

"I gotta go Cal. Wait, I don't know why I called you that, I'm sorry it's weird." I shrugged, looking towards the ground like I always do when I say something without thinking.

"No, I.. I like it." He smiled.

"Goodnight Carter." He stood up and pulled me into a hug, filling my entire body with warmth and comfort

We walked back to our Compartments in silence. Every once and a while I caught him stealing glances at me. Once I arrived back into my bedroom, I pulled down the covers to my bed, pulled my hoodie over my head, and literally plopped down into what seemed like a cloud of heavenly, comfortable, greatness.

"So.. Where have you been Miss Popularity?"
