** the time frame is mid May, so school is almost over and it is spring time almost summer time**
Ugh, I hate this school and I hate this town. Usually you hear this from someone who has lived in a small town their whole life and has been stuck with the same people. Not me. I live in the bustling city of Los Angeles California. Yeah, I know what you are thinking, but it isn't as glorious as it is made out to be. First of all it is super polluted, it seems like they don't really think about preserving the land here. Plus, all of the city noises start to drag on you after a while. True, it is a land of gold if you are trying to start an entertainment career, but if you are just a normal teenager not searching for fame and fortune, then it can get a little boring. I have always dreamed of living somewhere where I have nice neighbors and can safely ride my bike down the street without having to worry about estranged drivers.
I can now stop ratting on the city. Next up... my school. Most of the people in my school are absolute rats. Annoying human beings that think the most interesting and fun thing to do is to graffiti every square inch of open space. On top of that the hallway seem more like a skate park than an actual hallway. The teachers and administration tried to stop the kids from riding skateboards inside, but failed miserably. So, I have to practically parkour my way through the hallways in order to emerge in my next class with only minor injuries.
My first class of the day is math, and the only class in which I have any friends in. My best friend Mandy was already sitting in her seat when I walked into the classroom. It is a known fact that Mandy always arrives to her classes as early as possible in order to avoid having any conversation, which is why I love her. She never asks any unnecessary questions and she isn't overly nosy or annoying and seems to be one of the only people in the whole school with this amazing personality. Also the reason why she is my one and only friend. My mother says I need to get out more and make new friends, but I think that keeping self-contained and detached from the people around me so that when I move on to bigger and better things, then I won't have to accept their petty friend requests on Facebook.
"Good morning Mandy"
"Good Morning Miley"
"How are you feeling this morning?"
"Like a frog tried to climb down my throat this morning" Mandy replied. At that I laughed because she seems to always catch some sort of "sickness" on Monday and then it magically gets worse then better by the time Friday comes around. This way she can get around teachers and have an excuse for not doing all of her homework. Fortunately for her, our teachers this year are clueless and truly believe that she is just a sick child and that she catches the most unique illnesses. I am going to add this to my list of reasons why Mandy is my only best friend in this entire lousy school.
"Well, hopefully it is better by this weekend so that we can go to the Boardwalk."
"Maybe, we will see. That recurring cold last week was better by Friday last week, so I will see if the same thing happens this week. Fingers crossed."
And then the loud and dull school bell rang, signaling the start of yet another stupefying week of classes.
At the end of this class Mandy and I rush out of the class and start yet another treacherous trek through the hectic chaos that is our school hallways. Mandy and I part ways and I am about to reach my History class when a skateboarder crashes into me and sends all of my stuff flying into the hallway. After screaming at him I look at my stuff becoming part of the floor and the skateboards rolling over all of my stuff. I gave up trying to save my stuff when one skater almost ran over my hand and I entered my history class without any of my stuff, and this day just keeps getting better and better.
All of a sudden a guy burst into the room holding some misshapen papers and some really sketchy looking books. I thought that this guy needs to get his stuff together because he is all over the place. Then I realized that those papers and books were actually mine, and that is when he said
"Someone left these papers all over the hallway and I think that that person is going to want this English report because it is really good and I will use it if you don't want to."
I embarrassingly sprinted to the front of the classroom, grabbed all of my things, and rushed back to my desk. Then I looked up and noticed the still unnamed boy smirk and come and take a seat next to me in the only empty seat in the classroom.
"So nice of you to join us Mr. Sulley" my history teacher said.
At that he got out his textbook and started to doodle in it. Typical high school boy. Suddenly he started to stare at me at times which caused me to shift away from him. His unbreaking attention on me actually resulted in the writing of actual notes over the lecture.
"Why are you staring at me." I tried whispering menacingly
"Because I think that you have the most interesting aura."
"What?! What are talking about?" at this point I was convinced that this guy was psycho.
"Wait, did you hear that?"
"Uuuuhhh.... yeah! Why wouldn't I have heard that?"
"Good point. Never mind."
After that strange conversation I was determined to find out what was so strange about this Mr. Sulley because I had nothing better to do and he was the first guy in this entire school who I have met that actually has sparked my interest by his actions. I don't know one guy in this school who would have had the courtesy to pick up my stuff for me at the risk of receiving a tardy. And that was the start of everything.
A/N Sorry about everything being underlined. My computer is acting up and I can't get rid of it.
UUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
