"That's it!" You say as you drop the final moving box in your new apartment.
"Thanks again by the way. How much do I owe you?" You start taking out your wallet as you speak with the moving crew that helped with the heavier boxes earlier.
"Three frifty." The man says as he sticks out the palm of his hand for the money.
"Do you guys, by any chance, take card?" You ask nervously, not knowing if you have that much cash on you.
All three movers stare at you, unmoving.
"Right." You start to dig through your wallet, hoping you had enough to cover all that they had moved. You sighed in relief, realizing you did have enough, but now you were only left with a single five dollar bill.
"Here you go, have a wonderful rest of your day." You tell them as they start to walk out the apartment door. "And thanks for helping me move in!" You yell to them as they had already gotten pretty far from the door already.
You slam the door and slide down.
Finally, a place where you can call home.
You had recently moved into a new town, far from the city, after the death of your best friend. You realized that there was no longer a point to stay in that city anymore.
You had cut off all contact with your parents, at 18, after they had been emotionally and physically abusive to you threw out your entire life. The only person you were truly close with was your best friend, B/F/N. But after her passing, you couldn't stay there any longer and moved away.
Now your Herr, in some dinghy apartment that's way too over-priced to your liking.
Speaking of price, you need a job.
You had quite your job to move here. Planning to forget everything about your old life and start a new one.
You had looked around online to find a place to start. There really wasn't much. A coffee store cashier, a grocery clerk, and a bar tender. You weren't 21 yet, so the last one was an all no go.
You got up from under the floor and walked over to the couch that was seated at the only window in the living room area. You pulled out your laptop that was in an open box near the couch and placed it on your lap as you sat down.
You searched for those jobs on this job finder website and noticed that there was a new job posted only a few hours ago.
"Need of new Asylum care taker (No experience or medical degree required)"
An Asylum?
No NOPE!
You were not taking that job at all. No matter what. As you were about yo click on one of the other jobs you had mentioned, you had noticed the pay.
....
Fourty dollars an hour... That's almost how much doctors get paid.
You clicked on it.
You'd have to be taking care of seven patients. No biggie. All be it an asylum, it couldn't be that hard, could it?
The place was pretty far thought. It was in a secluded part of the woods near the town. You'd have to drive on a dirt path to get there. But that wasn't so bad.
You clicked apply and submitted your already pre-made application.
While you sit and wait, you apply to the other jobs that were looking for workers.
