𝘼𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣, was a sweet and innocent girl that Carlisle adopted into his family later in the 1970s. Carlisle had found her wandering alone in Canada and offered her support, which resulted in Adeline joining his family. She got along well with others and soon found herself, to be the only one in the family with Edward who doesn't also have a soulmate.
After the Cullens started high school, Edward and Adeline became 'twins'. They had the same lessons and became very close. The only ones in the family who didn't have a mate, they loved each other and supported each other, hoping that they would both find their mate one day.
They soon started high school again, but they didn't expect that it would bring many surprises. Everything went well until Edward met the girl named Isabella Swan.
Rosalie, the most angry of them all, didn't like a human getting involved in their family. Adeline didn't care as long as her brother Edward was happy.
For the first few weeks, Edward could not stand the smell of Isabella's blood and avoided her, he left the city to collect his thoughts and himself. However, he soon returned and got to know Isabella, who however, over time found out Cullens true nature. Which didn't seem to scare the girl away.
He soon brought Bella to meet his family which led from playing baseball to rescuing Bella. This led to Rosalie's anger more and Adeline also didn't like the idea but kept it to herself, because she had promised to support her adopted brother in every matter.
Somehow Bella had sneaked out on her own and gone to the mouth of death, which eventually led to her being bitten and breaking her leg. Edward had managed to suck the poison out of her in time and she survived for the time being.
It was thought that Cullen's could all finally be happy and move on with life, but Bella's birthday arrived and sure enough, the human managed to get a paper cut on her finger, while opening Esme's and Carlisle's present, which happened to be in an envelope.
The red liquid filled the carpet and the smell of metal reached everyone's nose. Jasper, who was not yet used to the proximity of humans, let alone the smell of their blood, attacked Bella. Edward managed to push her further in time but Bella had flown in it at the same time.
The incident led to the Cullens packing their things and leaving the next day, leaving Edward to say goodbye and break Bella's heart.
