"Now that you have learned everything, let's take you to meet Lady Remi." Maverick said, catching Leanna off-guard. He started to lead her down a room.

On their way, Leanna learnt many things about Remi. Maverick told her that Kayden found Remi one year after she left. Remi was originally part of another pack, but she joined Red Moon Pack after she found out that Kayden was her mate.

Remi was a hunter, and quite a good one at that. However now that she has become the female beta, she isn't allowed to hunt. Because one, its too dangerous and two, she has other duties. However she still lead some hunts with Kayden from time to time.

They reached the room where Remi was resting. A pleasent scent of morning flowers swirled across Leanna's sense as soon as they entered.

Remi was laying on her bed, her weak body looking fragile. Colors of her skin had paled due to her health, and dark circles draped beneath her red eyes. Leanna could also see deep bruises across her arms, and neck due to the fall she took.

Despite everything, Remi managed to give a small smile when she saw Maverick. Her eyes quickly landed on Leanna and they started to lit, both out of curiousity and effusiveness.

"I am here to introduce you to someone." Maverick pointed at Leanna, beckoning her to come closer.

"Leanna, right?" Remi asked impatiently, her tone much more brighter than the appearance of her gloominess. She had a glint in her eyes, almost sure that her conclusion was correct.

"That's me. How are you now?" Leanna replied, steadying her voice. It felt like her heart was ready to beat out of her chest, dancing in the bliss of pure joy.

She was thrilled to see Remi getting better. Just two days ago, she was laying lifeless, her body cold like all the life had been drained out of her. But Look at her now, all happy and glowing up, sunshine shedding off her.

"Well then I will leave you two ladies alone." Maverick said clumsily, running out of the room so fast that he left specks of smoke behind. He could practically feel the start of a great friendship.

Leanna and Remi watched as Maverick rushed out, and bursted into laughter. Maverick's unique way of displaying awkwardness was very funny.

"I am so grateful to you. You saved my life. Thank you so much." Remi finally said after she stopped laughing, gesturing Leanna to settle down on the cozy, cushioned chair that was resting besides the bed.

"It's my duty." Leanna's voice was so soft, and silky it could almost be mistaken for a melodious song. "Just be more careful from now on. How could you slip from the stairs?"

The atmosphere suddenly morphed into inky and gloominess, prolonged silence subsiding down the room. Remi's face darkened to the shades of black, something hard reflecting in her eyes.

It was so quiet that you could hear the whispers of a pin drop. Leanna could feel the reverse of the room, and she restlessly started to graze her nails over her finger. Did she say something wrong?

"Someone pushed me from the stairway." Remi finally said after the prolonged silence became too much to bear, her demeanor rapidly changing from gentle to lethal.

Leanna felt like she was hit by a jolt of  lightning, her body numbing to the banging of her heart. Disbelief bursted through her body, as all the words disappeared from her mouth. She just just sat there with a blankless face, too shocked to say something.

"Don't worry, that girl will be punished today." Remi twists in her seat to look at Leanna, the tension in her shoulders slowly dissolving. "She will be stripped off of her title and banished from the pack."
