Prologue~New Life

I felt my mind slowly withered away into nothing. Was I dying or in a dream? If so then at least I hoped my life had some meaning or at least someone cared to be by me in my last moments. 

"Wait didn't I have a family? Yes! I did...but some of them...didn't like me. Why...?"

Dammit my head just kept hurting the harder I tried to think about it. It was frustrating not being able to remember anything! What even was my name?

"Slow down and let it come back to you boy. Don't force it or the pain will increase" This voice sounded beyond like an echo or a distant calling. Should I listen or ignore it? Suddenly like a flash of light a picture formed in my mind. The memory I think it was, had a woman no...not a woman a girl. A very pretty girl with icy blue eyes and black hair. Her hair was in a braid with a funny looking green colored scrunchy holding it together at the bottom. She had cinnamon colored trousers over a white shirt along with shoes that looked beaten down.

"Estella!" I yelled automatically while watching the little girl turn towards me and smile. My legs moved on their own and I was suddenly running away from the little girl. This all seemed like a dream maybe I was in one? A smile spread across my face not only on myself, but in the dream as well. Maybe I can wake up from this yet I doubted that.

"Watch and wait." That echo where is it coming from? Who is it coming from? Just what are you?

"Watch and wait." The echo got louder with this saying.

Since I knew I probably wasn't going to get an answer I focused back on the memory half curious why this was so important to watch. A small force pushed me down and I was now on the ground. The little girl was on top of me now laughing as if she had no cares in the world. Seeing her happy face made me want to hug her so no one could ever hurt her.

"You cheated big brother! You were supposed to be hiding then I was going to catch you." She said between the laughter.

My body sat up while she was still on me, she slowly got into a sitting position on my lap.

"I'm sorry Estella I promise next time I'll make it a challenge for you, k?" I look down at her, up close you can see the little freckles she had on her face they reminded me all the time of tiny stars shining brightly in an open galaxy.

"You better or else I'll tell mother that you were being unfair." The deadly stare she gave me told me she was serious. Which made it even cuter I couldn't help but not take her seriously.

"Are you seriously going to tattle on your big half-brother now that's unfair."

Half-Brother? I think this little girl was my little half-sister. No, I knew deep down she was it was like an insistent sense.

"Well if you keep giving me advantages maybe I will but not now. Also! I heard that there was going to be a meter-shower tonight I was wondering if you could help me per-swayed mom to bring us?"

I stared at her then I smirked. "Do you even know what a meter-shower is?" I placed my hand on her head and ruffled her hair.

"Stop it big brother! I know what a meter-shower is I'm not stupid." She yelled trying to grab my hand to stop it from messing up her hair. "Please stop it! Mother had me sit for half an hour to make my braid."

I chuckled then stopped my hand leaning down to her height. "Why can't you ask Zeno or Ivan to go with you than maybe you can have only a sibling with you?"

She huffed and got up from my lap then started walking away but stopped. "I already asked both of them. Ivan said he had plans with his girlfriend and Zeno just chuckled along with telling me that I should go make friends." From the way her tone sounded I could tell she was disappointed which broke my heart. So I slowly got up and walked over to her then I hugged her.

"I'll help since I love you." I squeezed her into a bear hug. She hugged me back.

"I love you too, big brother." My heart melted with bliss but then another flash of light and I was pulled away from the memory. As suddenly as it left I was pulled back into a memory but this time I was staring at stars. I turned to see Estella pointing excitedly at them while sitting in a women's lap. The woman looked like Estella with the same black hair and icy blue eyes but she was older. Who was she...? 

"Mother is it going to start yet? We have been waiting for hours!"

Are mother? That was how she looked like Estella or should it be the other way around. "It hasn't been hours It's only been forty minutes darling and don't worrier it'll be worth the wait."

I couldn't help but smile this moment was precious to me and I knew it with my whole heart.

"Look!" Estella squealed excitedly pointing like a crazy person in the sky. I turned to see dazzling little streaks moving across the sky, it was breathtaking. As I looked up in the sky I heard my mother quietly whisper a lullaby with the echo singing along.

" I wish to go up the hill to chase the stars~"

"So never back down with a broken heart~"

"My soul and lies not be bound~"

"Never reach heaven and hell~"

"But when death comes to cut my soul~" 

"That wish please take my soul~"

"For a new life to come~"

"Oh~"

"Please Quelit grant me the freedom over~"

I wish I somehow could stay in this moment and drift off to sleep with no care in the world.

"You can't stay you have a new life ahead." Suddenly I was pulled back with that same blinding light and my mothers sweet singing slowly drifted away from me.
"No! I want to stay! I need to stay!"
This feeling I felt crushed me inside, It made me want to cry if I could but the tears felt light like air."

"If you don't move along the time will run out boy and the gate will close." The echo almost sounded fast or hurried. Then I prayed for one more memory.

"Fine I can give you all of them back but you have to give me something."

"A price, seriously was this a trap? Am I going to not be able to do anything? I'm probably going to drift in darkness forever." 

"No don't be so serious I simply want that body of your in your next life."

"What do you mean?"

"That is for you to figure out boy."

"Seriously, also why do you keep calling me boy?"

"Your questions will be answered in time. Now go for my powers has no more hold over this realm."

"Wait what about the memories? I can't leave without them!"

"Dream. Shi."

"Also live Seventeen Lifelong Stories."

 So many questions left unanswered but somehow I knew Seventeen Lifelong Stories would be my answer for them.
