Doing the final edits to her article the next day, Kara double checked it over for any spelling mistakes, printed it out and made her way to Andrea's office.
Knocking quietly, Kara waited until she was waved in. "Miss Rojas, here is the article you wanted finished."
"You know that didn't have to be done until lunch. You've barely been here five minutes." Andrea arched an eyebrow. "But I must say I am always impressed with your ability to get work completed on time unlike some others in this building who like to laze about and think I don't notice. Thank you, Kara." She gave her a warm smile. "Also, please just call me Andrea."
"Thank you Miss-" Kara quickly corrected herself when Andrea's brows raised. "Sorry. Andrea. That's very nice of you to say. I got up early this morning to complete it."
"You're welcome, Kara."
"Well, I should be getting back to work." Kara said as she turned to leave.
"Actually, why don't you take the rest of the day off. There's not much I need you to do right now and I'm sure there's a certain bartender who would love for you to hang out with her." Andrea grinned. "As a matter of fact, I know that she has taken the day off today."
"Oh, are you sure?" Kara paused in the doorway. "I mean, I really don't mind going back to work."
"I'm sure Kara. Go keep Lena company so she stops spamming my phone with stupid memes she knows will annoy me and complaints about being bored. You'll be doing me a huge favour." Andrea arched her brow then waved her off.
"Ok. Have a great rest of your day Andrea." Kara waved as she left to make her way back to the apartment block. She stopped in at home first to change out of her work clothes then went up to Lena's apartment and knocked on the door.
Hearing a knock at her door, jolted Lena off the couch as she wasn't expecting anyone to come over since she knows all her friends are at work. "Kara! Hey!" Lena's breath caught in her throat when she saw what Kara was wearing. "I wasn't expecting to see you today." She stood there in her pyjama shorts and white tank top with her hair in a messy bun.
Kara's mouth suddenly went dry at seeing so much skin. "I... ah... Andrea gave me the day off today and said that you were home. Sorry is this a bad time because I really-I didn't mean-I can go-"
Lena smirked at the blonde who was clearly flustered and rambling like a nervous and very cute idiot. "Kara, take a breath. It's totally fine."
Kara blushed bright red from her neck right to the tip of her ears and took a deep breath. "I'm sorry. Let me start again. Hi Lena." Her eyes roamed the length of Lena's body of their own accord.
"Would you like to come in?" Lena asked, her eyes doing the exact same to Kara who had on a pair of shorts and a baby blue shirt, rolled up to her elbows and the top two buttons undone exposing her very delicious looking neckline that she would love to sink her teeth into before innocently blinking up at her.
Kara registered what she was doing and blushed again, lifting her eyes to meet Lena's. "Yeah."
Lena moved aside to let Kara in then closed the door. "Please excuse the mess." She gestured at the couch with her blanket haphazardly thrown on it. "I was just lazing around today, having decided to take the day off. It's not often I do but you know, sometimes even the boss needs a day to herself."
"Oh, don't worry about it." Kara sat down in the recliner.
"So, you said Andrea told you I was home today?" Lena opened the fridge to get them both a drink.
"She did. She said I was doing her a favour because you wouldn't stop sending her memes and that you were bored." Kara bit her lower lip as she checked out Lena's butt.
