i wrote it from my hospital bed right after the accident, but it didn't end up making it onto stargazer because i felt like it was too explicitly about the car accident and about taz
like i never even recorded a demo for it and i don't ever intend for it to see the light of day, but i'm still happy i found it again

it was kinda hard to write about anything except taz or the accident when that was all i was really thinking about. any time i tried to write about anything else it never ended up as good as the songs i wrote about that

to be honest the last time i listened to stargazer was before i met you, so i didn't know all the background with the car crash and taz. i imagine if i went back and listened to it now, it would be very obvious what it's about

yeah. that's why i didn't end up recording wreck. i wanted my lyrics to be vague enough that it wouldn't be obvious to anyone who doesn't know me what it's about, but clear enough that the people who know me and know what i've been through would know exactly what it's about

i've told him how many and he's been guessing which ones

yeah the whole guessing thing started the other day because he looked me dead in the face and straight up asked me if london eyes was about him
he keeps going to moth to a flame to see if there's songs on there that are about him which is funny because there's not a single song on that entire album about him

how did you go from writing half an album about taz to not writing a single song about him on the second album?

quite easily, actually. i was really depressed when i wrote stargazer but i was just angry when i wrote moth to a flame, but taz always did right by me, so i was never angry at him and therefore, there's no songs about him on moth to a flame

was there any about him on the third album before it got cancelled?

a couple, yeah
there's actually a super horny one called skin that i wrote over the couple of days between when we got back together and when we actually started sleeping together
