"WE CAN'T JUST LEAVE HER HERE, SHE'S STILL BREATHING! WE HAVE TO HELP HER!" Marcus pointed at the girl laying on the floor.

Inez stared at Chico the whole time, she wasn't ready to let him go. She was frozen. She'd rather a lifetime of this.

Knowing that the next time she'd see Chico, if she ever saw him again— he'd be cold, not a hint that he'd ever lived— it killed her.

So she wanted to stay here— here she can feel the warmth of his body before it ceased to exists. Here she can see him. Here she has him.

Marcus hunched over, trying his best to pick her up, she was doing nothing to help him.

Stuck latching to the memory of her best friend.

"You can't save everybody, Marcus!" Maria cooed, tugging at his arm in attempts at pulling him away. "She's gone." She took a solemn glance at the girl, shaking her head.

The look in Marcus's eyes told her Inez mattered to him. And if Marcus's care for Inez was anything like Chico's— she had competition.

"Somebody help me bring her!"

Willie picked the girl up, throwing her over his shoulder and wrapping an arm around the back of her thighs to keep her in place. "Hey, if we leave her here and she survives, she'll murder us—"

"She's going to fucking kill us anyway! We murdered Chico." Maria interjected, screaming at the boy.

"You!" Willie countered, pointing a finger at her. "You murdered Chico."

"Do you think that's going to fly with Angel? We were all fucking involved! You held a gun to his head! You shot her!" Maria scoffed, pushing her tongue through her cheek. "Is that what this is about, Willie? Huh? You feel guilt for shooting her?"

"She's coming back to Kings." Willie said sternly. "Or you can find your own way home." He concluded, making his way out of the dark alley-way.

Marcus limped not far behind, staring at the almost lifeless girl in his friends arms. "I'm sorry, Nez." He whispered, reaching for her hand. His body couldn't handle the movement and he stumbled, Maria catching him before he could fall.
