Chapter 6

In the days that follow, our team rallies together, adjusting to the unexpected changes. The atmosphere at the Red Bull Racing headquarters is a mix of determination and support, with everyone gearing up for the challenges of the upcoming races. 

Christian, recognizing the shift in dynamics, holds a team meeting to reinforce unity and focus. "We're a strong team, and we face challenges head-on. With Miah stepping in for Daniel, we'll adapt and continue pushing for success. Let's show the world what we're made of," Christian declares, setting the tone for the days ahead.

On the practice consol, I immerse myself in rigorous training, working closely with the engineers to fine-tune the car to my preferences. Max and Jak provide valuable insights and encouragement, while I practice on the simulator in the factory. "Faster Miah, push! You can do it," Max says beside me, holding onto the headrest of the gaming chair.

"Go around him!" Jak, beside my left, gets a little too excited about the game.

"There's me ten seconds ahead, Miah, push! Go." With the encouragement from the boys, I use my strategies and find my way passing Max's car on the simulator, securing P1 in the game. The boys and I jump up and down, doing our little celebration for the virtual win.

"You keep driving like that on the track, and I'm sure you'll be lapping me by the end of the race on Sunday," Max says, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

"Thanks, Max. That means a lot, but we both know you have a powerhouse of a car, and no one can come close to beating you," I say as we have a laugh about the thought of someone else beating Max on the track.

As I walk into the into the room, the air is charged with excitement and anticipation. The sound of engines being fine-tuned and the sight of mechanics working diligently on the cars fill the expansive space. It's time to discuss new ideas and my driving style with the team.

I gather the engineers and mechanics in the briefing room, with charts, simulations, and the unmistakable Red Bull Racing emblem. The hum of conversation ceases as I step to the front, ready to engage with the dedicated individuals who ensure our cars are at peak performance.

"Hey everyone," I begin, a smile playing on my lips. "I've been spending a lot of time on the simulator and reflecting on my driving style. I wanted to share some insights and hear your thoughts on potential adjustments to optimize our performance."

The lead engineer, Paul Monaghan, a seasoned expert with a keen eye for details, nods encouragingly. "Miah, we're all ears. What have you noticed, and how can we tailor the car to match your preferences?"

I  begin with talking about my driving style, discussing how I prefer a bit more responsiveness in certain turns and the importance of a stable rear end during acceleration. The engineers listen attentively, jotting down notes and exchanging thoughtful glances.

"Now, I've also been thinking about some tweaks in our aerodynamics setup," I continue. "I believe a slightly adjusted downforce might give us an edge in those high-speed corners. What are your thoughts on that?"

Pierre, the aerodynamics specialist, pulls up a chair next to me, and we dive deep into the world of simulations. The whirring sound of the computers intensifies as we explore the potential adjustments to the car's aerodynamics.

"Miah, your insights are invaluable. Let's input these variables into the simulator and see how the changes affect the downforce and overall performance," Pierre suggests, his eyes focused on the screen, fingers dancing across the keyboard.

As the simulations run, the rest of the team continues to contribute their thoughts. The mechanics, with their hands-on experience, offer practical considerations for implementing changes during pit stops. Their insights provide a crucial bridge between theory and real-world application.
