Kamala Khan was a normal teenager who loved comics, video games, and superheroes. She idolized Captain Marvel, the most powerful hero in the world. She wished she could be like her, but she felt trapped by her strict parents, her conservative culture, and her low self-esteem. She often felt like she didn't belong anywhere, not even in her own skin.One night, she sneaked out of her house to go to a party at the waterfront, hoping to fit in with her classmates. She didn't know that a strange mist was spreading across the city, a result of a bomb detonated by the Inhumans, a hidden race of superhumans. The mist was called Terrigen, and it had the power to awaken the latent abilities of anyone who had Inhuman ancestry.Kamala was one of those people. As she walked through the mist, she felt a surge of pain and fell unconscious. She had a vision of her favorite superheroes, who told her that she had a destiny to fulfill, and that she could be anything she wanted to be. They asked her what she desired most, and she blurted out: "I want to be you. I want to be beautiful and awesome and butt-kicking and less complicated. I want to be Ms. Marvel."When she woke up, she was shocked to see that her wish had come true. She had transformed into a blonde, blue-eyed, muscular version of herself, wearing a replica of Ms. Marvel's costume. She had also gained the power to shape-shift her body in any way she could imagine. She could grow, shrink, stretch, and morph her appearance at will. She was a polymorph.She soon realized that her new powers came with a price. She had to deal with the consequences of her actions, the expectations of her family and community, and the dangers of a world full of villains and threats. She had to learn how to control her abilities, how to balance her dual identities, and how to be true to herself. She had to discover what it meant to be a hero.She decided to take up the mantle of Ms. Marvel, inspired by her idol, but also determined to carve her own path. She faced many challenges and enemies, but also made many friends and allies. She joined the Avengers, the Champions, and the Secret Warriors. She became a symbol of hope and diversity for many people. She became the new Ms. Marvel.
