Abby's POV

First week of tryouts done! It wasn't that bad but I know next week is going to be a lot tougher.

But time to enjoy one of my last weekends before school starts.

I called up my best friend Lena. We've been best friends since 4th grade when she transferred to my middle school and had the same bracelet as me. We still wear that bracelet as a sort of symbol for our friendship.

"Lena, you busy? Let's hang out."

"Sure. You coming to my house or am I going to yours?"

"I'll go to yours. I want to see Lulu. See you in a bit." Lulu is Lena's adorable labradoodle.

I walked three blocks down from my house and knocked on the door to Lena's house. She opened her door and thought I was going to hug her, but I moved to the side and wrapped my arms around Lulu instead.

"Abby!" Lena pouted and gave me a look of hurt.

I laughed out loud.

"I'll hug you after I finish" *kiss*

"Giving" *kiss*

"Kisses" *kiss kiss*

"To Lulu" *kiss*

"I swear you love Lulu more than you love me," Lena's so cute, especially because she's shorter than me. She's 5"3' and has long blonde hair. I love messing with her.

"You know I do," I teased Lena.

She gasped and nudged me lightly.

I chuckled, "You know I love you too." I put down Lulu and hugged her.

"Hmm sure you do," she sounded skeptical.

"Haha I do. You're so special to me," I hugged her tighter.

"Mhmm that's better. Come on," she pulled me down the hallway to her room while Lulu followed us.

"So I have some news," I started saying.

"What's up?"

"You know how I have a thing for Asians and especially the sporty type?"

"Yeah?"

"Well...there's this really hot Asian girl that plays tennis that I met at tryouts and she's really kind."

Lena started laughing for some reason.

"What's so funny?" I questioned her.

"When you have a crush on someone, you don't start off by saying 'I have some news'" she mimicked my voice and I rolled my eyes at her.

"I thought it was something serious." She kept laughing at me and soon I started laughing.

After catching our breaths, she finally asked, "So who is this hot Asian girl you met at tryouts?"

"Her name's Sam and she's really good at tennis."

"A freshman?"

"Senior."

Her mouth opened wide at what I said.

"You have a crush on a senior? Are you insane? A senior isn't going to date you."

"You don't know that. She's single and into girls, so it's not like my chances are zero."

"Ok. Let's say she wants to date you, do you really want your first girlfriend, ever, to be a senior who's probably really experienced and will dump you the second she gets bored? She's probably just going to use your body and then move on."
