01: Love At First Meow

I have been an avid reader of fan fiction for quite some time now, and recently, I decided to try my hand at writing my own short story.

English is NOT my first language, so I have been using proofreading apps to ensure that my writing is as polished as possible.

On a quiet night filled with twinkling stars and a glowing moon, a sleek car zipped along an empty road, cutting through the darkness. Inside the car was a man named Jungkook, his raven-black hair framing his sharp features, giving him a striking look. Dressed in a fitted black shirt and trousers, he projected an air of sophistication.

The soft sound of music played from the radio, creating a calming background to his drive. Suddenly, the announcer's voice broke through, talking about strange sightings of half-human, half-animal creatures in the area. Some had cat ears and tails, while others looked more dog-like. Most people dismissed these tales as mere fantasy, but some believed there was truth to them.

Jungkook chuckled and turned off the radio. "Half-breeds of humans, cats, and dogs? What nonsense," he said, shaking his head at the ridiculousness. But just as he dismissed the thought, something unexpected happened. A shadow leaped onto the hood of his car, making Jungkook's heart race and causing him to slam on the brakes.

"What the hell...?" he whispered, stepping cautiously out of the vehicle. His curiosity began to outweigh his initial shock as he approached the mysterious figure perched on his car.

What he saw took his breath away. A stunning creature, with familiar features, gazed back at him. Its crescent-shaped eyes sparkled under the moonlight, lips like ripe plums, and golden hair flowing in soft waves. The creature's skin shimmered like porcelain, and a slender tail swayed gently behind it. Large, delicate ears twitched at every sound.

Jungkook stood frozen, torn between disbelief and wonder. This being was both fragile and powerful. "Where...where are you from?" he finally managed to ask, his voice barely above a whisper. "What's your name? I'm Jungkook."

The creature remained silent, their eyes locked together in an unspoken connection. "Maybe... he doesn't understand me," Jungkook pondered, glancing up at the stars for guidance. Just then, the creature whispered, "Jugcok," mispronouncing his name in the sweetest tone he had ever heard.

Jungkook blinked, a smile spreading across his face. "Not Jugcok, it's Jungkook," he gently corrected, his voice warm. "Come on, try again. Say it... kitten."

He noticed the feline features-cat ears, a tail, graceful movements-making him soft-hearted. Unable to resist, Jungkook reached out, brushing his thumb across the creature's cheek. "Wow... you're beautiful," he murmured, overwhelmed. "What's your name, kitten?"

The creature tilted its head, and in a delicate whisper, responded, "Jimin."

"Jimin..." Jungkook repeated, savoring the name. Noticing Jimin shivering in the cool air, he rushed back to his car, grabbing his coat. He returned to Jimin's side, kneeling to wrap it around him carefully.

Jungkook lifted Jimin into his arms, feeling the warmth of his breath against his neck, igniting something in Jungkook's heart. Cradling Jimin effortlessly, he carried him to the passenger seat and gently helped him in, ensuring he was safe and warm. He quickly covered Jimin again when the coat slipped, feeling his cheeks heat at the sight.

Once back behind the wheel, Jungkook glanced at Jimin, who was now cozily snuggled in the coat, looking up at him with curious eyes. Without hesitation, he started the car, driving into the night with this beautiful, enchanting creature by his side.

As the city lights flashed by, Jungkook couldn't help but glance at Jimin, feeling like he had stumbled upon a piece of magic, something beyond the ordinary world around him.
