The ceiling lights illuminates the whole office as the clock strikes near midnight. A solitary figure sits behind the office's desk, the glow of the city skyline visible through the large window. The faint aroma of alcohol spread throughout the air as the figure poured himself another glass. The bodyguard, Choi Yejun is having the best time inside Kunwoo's office. After accompanying Jieun to her destinations, he took the cab back to the company building to rest. He ended up here with alcoholic beverages because it was left alone after the employees celebrated the company artist's birthday. Most of them went home already and only a few are left inside the building.
With a light sigh, Yejun lifts the glass to his lips once again, the liquid burning a trail down his throat, momentarily chasing away the built up stress from the past days. His eyes fixated on his phone that's on the table, playing an entertaining video.
Senses of pleasure, relaxation, and weariness washes over him as he kept on drinking. It's been so long since he last drank alcohol. The last time was from when he was still a part of an infamous crime organization. He's glad that this time he isn't part of one as those were the times he wished to not go back to.
In the midst of it, two notifications popped up simultaneously, blocking half of the screen which caused Yejun to groan in annoyance. As he was just getting to the exciting part, he got bothered.
He saw that there are two messages, one that came from Kunwoo and one from Donghyun. The content of the texts are the same, they're informing him that he's called in Jong-han's office.
"It's urgent, huh? What could be so urgent in this time of the night." Yejun sighed in annoyance before drinking the remaining liquid in his glass as he gathered himself up to head to the CEO's office.
He then proceeds to head to the designated place. His steps are quick, each stride covers the ground quickly. Yejun knew that they're not the type to call him in without a reason, especially at this time of the night, so this must be important.
The bodyguard now faced the door to Jong-han's office. He opened it and welcomed himself inside without further notice and four people are inside. The boss himself, Kunwoo, Donghun and the annoying guy Jintae.
Yejun saw the serious and disturbed look present on each of their face. He also saw that Jintae momentarily glared at him before heaving out a sigh. Yejun had no energy to exchange with him and quickly got to the point.
He faced Jong-han, "What's up? You called me."
The latter motioned Yejun to come over near them. He found it weird that it's too quiet and no single word aside from his has been let out. Normally, Jong-han and Kunwoo would at least greet him, Donghyun would at least give a nod of acknowledgement, and Jintae... well, explode on him.
'Must be really serious if they're like that.' Without further disruption, he did as he was told as his feet dragged him to where they are.
He noticed how messy Jong-han's desk is, as it's filled with tons of letters that came from Jieun's fans all around the country; seemingly birthday greetings. Its number brought amazement to Yejun's face, 'That's a lot... Well duh, she's a celebrity, dumbass.'
The atmosphere around them is tense, Jong-han's eyes glued to the laptop in front of him. A huge sigh escaped his lips as his eyes averted to the people inside his office. There's dread behind those eyes.
Yejun is now growing impatient as he witness their unusual behavior. He then speaks up, breaking the deafening silence clouding the room, "What's wrong, old man?"
It only took a few seconds before Jong-han finally speak, responding to Yejun's question, "Someone sent letters..."
His agitated state made it so obvious to the point Yejun grasped the situation in a short amount of time.
