When Y/N met Steve for the first time it actually nearly killed her, he was driving Robin to school and the two were arguing in the car when his foot slipped and instead of pressing the breaks he accidentally put his foot down on the accelerator, Y/N let out a scream that was loud enough to shatter glass— she closed her eyes expecting to be hit and fly over the top of the car but when she opened her eyes the car had actually skidded past her and both Robin and Steve rushed out of the car to see if she was okay.
"What the hell Steve?! You nearly killed her!" Robin screamed at him as Y/N took some deep breaths still shocked she hadn't been killed
"I am so so sorry are you okay?" He asked as he finally got a good look at Y/N who didn't say a word
"I think she's in shock." Robin whispered
"Who is she anyway?" Steve asked his friend
"No idea never seen her before she must be new."
"I-I'm Y/N I just started today." She finally spoke,
"Could've also have been your last day if I didn't grab the wheel." Robin said and Steve glared at her. "I'm Robin by the way that's Steve." She said
"Nice to meet you both." Y/N said calmly now that her breathing had returned to normal "I should probably get to class." Y/N said as she picked her bag up from the floor and started to walk away
"Yeah I should go too. Try not kill anyone on the way home." Robin teased her best friend
"Very funny(?!)" Steve said sarcastically as he got into his car and glanced over at Y/N as she walked into the school all on her own.
That incident happened six months ago. Steve and Y/N got to know each other pretty well after that day since Robin and Y/N became very close friends— the more time Steve and Y/N spent together the more he realised he actually had feelings for this girl and it was starting to get on Robins nerves that he wasn't doing anything about it,
"Will you hurry up and tell her instead of staring at her the whole time she's going to find you creepy." Robin hit Steve on the arm with a magazine which snapped him out of his gaze towards Y/N who was walking towards Steve's car.
"I do not like Y/N." He persisted and Robin just rolled her eyes
"Yeah sure you don't(?!) I'm just saying if you like her I don't see the harm in asking her out for food. You better make it quick though because I've heard that Peter Kacey is planning on asking her out." Robin informed Steve which really got his attention
"Seriously?" Steve asked Robin and she nodded her head
"Hi guys!" Y/N beamed happier than usual
"What's got you in a good mood?" Robin asked as the three of them got into Steve's car
"I'm always in a good mood." Y/N replied.
"No you're happier than usual." Robin said
"Peter asked me to go out for some food with him on Sunday." Y/N smiled and Steve looked in his mirror and caught eyes with Robin who was already looking at him with an eyebrow raised as if to say 'I did warn you' "What's that look for?" Y/N asked unfortunately for the two of them Y/N saw the look that they had given each other.
