Annie stepped on the brick stairs as she went to knock on Levi's door. There were no cars in the driveway, meaning it was just Levi. She knocked on the door and patiently waited for it to open. After a few seconds the door opened to reveal Levi. He was wearing a royal blue polo shirt and khakis.
"Why are you so dressed up?" Annie asked, giggling.
Levi sighed. "I had work before this. Now come on!" Levi said pulling her inside the house.
"Is Elijah here yet?" Annie asked, looking around.
He shook his head. "Nah. I doubt he's even coming. He hates my guts.."
"Why?" She asked.
"Because I used to date his little sister.. and I broke up with her. So, yeah." Levi explained.
Annie nodded. "Well. Should we just wait a little for Elijah, and if he doesn't come, we can just start working on the essay?" She asked.
Levi smiled. His smile was so adorable and sweet, it made Annie want to give him a giant hug. Levi was only a year older than her, (Sophmore.) and she knew they could become really good friends.
"Yeah sure. Wanna play a video game or something?" He asked.
"Hell yeah!" Annie exclaimed.
The two went to his room. Levi put the game disc into the PS5 and waited for it to turn on.
"So, Annie. What school did you come from?" He asked.
"Ah. I used to be homeschooled." She replied.
Levi grinned. "That's cool. I heard homeschool kids are weird tho. Makes sense!"
Annie pushed him making him fall off the bed where they were both sitting.
"Damn I was just joking!" Levi said laughing.
"Sorry! I didn't really mean to push you THAT hard—"
"Haha it's alright, freshie." Levi said.
Annie rolled her eyes. "You we're literally a freshman two months ago. Stop calling me that!"
Levi laughed. "I guess you have a point there."
Annie looked into his eyes and smiled. "Yeahh."
Levi leaned in closer, lost in her starry blue eyes. "You have gorgeous eyes, by the way." He said leaning back.
Annie grinned. "Thanks, I appreciate that." She blushed.
She had butterflies in her stomach. She'd never felt this way about anyone before.
"You have pretty hair." Annie said accidentally, but instantly covered her mouth.
Levi bursted out laughing. "I know, you don't have to tell me twice." He said, his cheeks turning slightly pink.
Silence filled the room until a loud slam hit the bedroom door.
"What the fuck?" Levi yelled.
Suddenly, Elijah appeared after he opened the door.
"Thanks for not opening the door asshole. I'm literally freezing out there knocking fifty times!" Elijah scoffed.
Levi groaned. "Can you shut your fucking mouth for once?"
Elijah's face looked angry. "Shut the fuck up. Let's just get this shitty project over with so I can go home. I'm only here because I feel bad Annie has to be stuck with a pervert like you."
Annie looked at Levi.
"I'm not a pervert you ass. Stop trying to create drama like a little girl." He yelled.
Elijah stepped closer. "That's not what my sister would say."
Levi glared at him. "Don't bring that up. Im over this. Let go work on the project."
Elijah shook his head and went into the kitchen. Levi and Annie followed.
"Did we ever decide what person to do?" Annie asked. She felt the tension between the two boys.
"Ooookay. How about we do Anne Frank?" Annie suggested.
Elijah shrugged. "Nah. Let's do Dwayne Johnson."
Annie glared at him. "Really, Elijah?"
Elijah grinned. "I'm just joking Annie BaNannie."
Levi gritted his teeth. "Is that seriously what you call her?" He asked, disgusted.
Elijah put his on his face. "It's better than calling someone a 'hot ass hoe'!" He fought.
Levi's eyebrows pressed. "I didn't call m your sister that! Quit being a fucking idiot. She's lying to make you hate me."
Elijah bit the side of his bottom lip. "Whatever you say, Levi. Whatever you say."
Annie frowned. "Guys, I need y'all to stop fighting. This project is worth half of our grades!"
Elijah shrugged. "I'll stop when this dimwit stops."
Levi sighed. "Fuck off."
Annie rolled her eyes. "If you two can't get along then I'm just gonna go home."
The two boys looked at eachother and Levi nodded. "Fine. But don't count on it." Levi mumbled the last part.
Annie took out her computer. "So, Anne Frank?"
The boys both nodded. After doing some research on Anne Frank, Elijah announced to everyone:
"My bad Annie. I have to go. Family emergency." He said standing up and packing his bags.
Levi glared at him. "You sure it's not so you can just leave and not do any work?"
Elijah went to say something, but stopped. "I don't have time for this bullshit anymore." He said, walking out the front door, making sure everyone could hear the slam.
Levi rolled his eyes. "I can't stand that asshole.thinks he's better than everyone..while he's literally in a freshman and Sophmore class because he failed!"
Annie nodded. "I really don't feel like doing the project anymore."
Levi frowned. "Why not?"
She sighed. "I just don't feel like it anymore"Levi sighed and rubbed her back. " I'm sorry if I was being a dick, but i genuinely hate Elijah."
"What even happened with you and his sister?" Annie asked
Levi was quiet for a moment, but finally said, " freshman year I asked her to homecoming, and I told one of my friends she was hot. Well, that "friend" changed it into a rumor where I touched her inappropriately.. which I didn't. Apparently his sister wanted to break up with me anyways but didn't know how, so she just went along with the story making me seem like a pervert.. I'm not. I would never do that to a girl, I respect women too much.
Annie frowned. "That really sucks. Why would your friend do that to you?"
"I don't know, but I punched him in the face so hard that day. I hate him. He left SunView though.." Levi replied
"Can I tell you a secret?" Annie said
"Of course." He replied.
"You have the cutest smile I've ever seen." She blushed while saying.
Levi smiled. "Thank you, freshie." He leaned in and gave her an innocent hug.
Annie hugged him back, tightly, but Levi pulled away after a few seconds.
"Now, let's actually get some work done on this essay." Levi said.
