"I miss LA!" DenDen shouted, stretching her arms, bending forward and trying to reach her toes. They were already in bed at the dorm, and they were taking the time to relax and rest after a punishing day at the gym.
"I miss myself, and my bed!" Ella announced, hopping into her bed. She cuddled her pillow and curled in her bed.
"Ikaw, Besh?" Ella asked Alyssa. She smiled her most annoying smile.
"I miss Amy..." Alyssa immediately answered. She was already in bed, reading a pocketbook, while working on her toes and legs. She has been trying to stretch them to ease the tension in her muscles.
"Has it already sunk in that we have already graduated from college?" Ella asked, raising herself up a bit.
Alyssa yawned and stretched her upper body. "Minsan. That day during the championship, pero since I get to see you pa rin, I don't have that sad feeling pa," she answered.
"When is the basketball team coming back again?" DenDen asked. She was also in her bed, about to fall asleep. "Parang di ko na nakikita si Kiefer a," she added, then sat and straightened up. "'Di na ba sila magkakabalikan ni Mika?"
"Besh, wala namang nakakasiguro kung forever silang hiwalay. Malay ba natin if they are trying to work it out, di ba, Besh?" Ella said, and asked Alyssa.
"Yep, malamang magkakabati din yun," Alyssa added, not taking her eyes from the book she is reading.
"Wala ba siyang kinukwento sa 'yo, Besh?" DenDen asked, lying on her stomach, with her arms supporting her head.
"Wala pang time kami magchismisan ulit e," Alyssa said, flipping to the next page of the book.
"Besh, what if kayo pala ni Kiefer ang magkakatuluyan sa huli?" DenDen asked, lying on her back this time, raising her feet, as if pedaling in the air. "I mean, pareho kayong single ngayon. 'Di naman malayong mangyari, di ba?"
"Besh, nasobrahan ka lang ng mga romantic movies and plots. Itulog mo lang 'yan," Alyssa replied, still absorbed with what she is reading.
"Ang ganda siguro ng plot, ano? Mag-bestfriends sa simula, then they found love... love was there all along!" Ella joined DenDen, and they both giggled.
"Huy, magsitulog na nga kayo! Sa lahat talaga, kami pa ni Kiefer," Alyssa said, just enough to take her eyes off the book that she is reading.
"Besh, makinig ka muna kase sa amin: what if nga lang? Pansin mo, walang kamatayan ang panunukso sa inyong dalawa? Mula pa noon," Ella mused. DenDen jumped out of her bed, and transferred beside Ella, both of them looking at Alyssa. "Oo nga, Besh. And come to think of it, you seem to agree on almost everything. Same wavelength, same kayong athletes, and same school!" DenDen added, giggling, and trying to vent it out on Ella. Ella did the same, tapping DenDen wherever she could hit her.
Alyssa looked at them and smiled exasperatingly,"You, guys, are crazy. Kelan nagkaroon ng love angle sa isang platonic relationship?"
"There's no platonic relationship between the opposite sex, Besh!" Ella exclaimed, and DenDen nodded her head enthusiastically. "Yung effort niya, of getting out of his way, para lang matulungan ka? Or the way he would search for you in a crowd, then smile his big smile?"
"And the way he would always hug you?"
"And the way na he'd run after you kung nilalampasan mo lang siya?"
"And the way na hahanapin ka niya para makausap, parang naghahanap lang ng reason na makausap ka?"
"Stop! Stop! Stop! Nasobrahan na naman ang mga creative juices ninyo." Alyssa put down the book she has been reading on her bedside table, removed her eyeglasses, rubbed her eyes, and laid her head on her pillow.
