"More nurses are needed for the coming surge! Nurse Navier, can you please watch my patient while I tend to the new ones? Thank you!" I quickly went to the patient, taking turns caring for those on ventilators, observing their bodies twitching occasionally.

It's been six hours straight, and I haven't taken any rest or eaten, even though it's past lunchtime now. Fatigue is slowly taking over my whole body due to lack of sleep. However, I have to push myself to keep working, despite just wanting to feel the softness of my bed and the coolness of my pillow.

Such a devastating scene - watching patient after patient die without their family around them. To the point where I have to act as a relative to cheer them up, even just a tiny bit until their last breath.

I have been consumed for quite a while now, tired of what the world has become. I didn't realize that I, too, am suffering the same fate as those I pitied.

Pity.

Not for others but for myself, to the point I forgot to look after myself as I was too busy looking after others.

This is perhaps why God chose this as my final judgment. But I shall accept it if it's my time.

If only life were a game where I could wish to try again and restart to enjoy my life a little bit better...

If only...

"It's a girl!"

Duchess Trovi smiles with tears coming out of her eyes as her husband — the Duke of House Trovi  held her hand and carefully held his daughter now washed and bundled with the other.

"What should we name her?"

"Navier... Navier Ellie Trovi."
