I physically couldn't get to sleep that night. I kept crawling towards Hugo to see if he was awake but he unfortunately was asleep. So I sat up and dazed into the pitch room. Then I tip toed down the brown stairs and into the gloomy kitchen. I opened the fridge door and grabbed the left over strawberries and Nutella. I gradually dipped the ruby strawberries into the chocolate. I spun round and I found my self face to face with the love of my life. "Did I wake you?" I whispered. "Yes" he said. "Sorry" . "why are you whispering? I'm a wake stupid" he grabbed me. "Force of habit" I laughed. "You coming up darling?" I quickly asked. "Two minutes. I'll follow you up" said Hugo. I curiously walked up the wooden steps and jumped into bed. It was a few minutes until he finally came up. "Where you been?". He did not reply. He viciously kicked the pale door and it swung open. A huge smile slithered on my face. He stood next to the bad hanging a tray of food over me. "Well that's cute of you Hugo". "Well I could tell you wanted something, so I decided to make you some food". He gently placed the tray on my lap and turned the TV on. "Turn the light off please". "well that would be stupid! You won't be able to see your food if I do that" he said. "Of corse I will, the TV is on. I can see perfectly" "if you insist". He placed his two fingers on the switch and dramatically turned the light off. He rushed to the bed and snuggled in next to me. "Watch the food!" I screamed. He moved away. " I'm joking , I'd rather you cuddle me than me eating food. Well?? Actually...". He moved even further away. I chucked the plate and raced over to his side of the bed. He lifted his arm up so i could cuddle him. I stoked my untouched hand on his muscly stomach and brushed his fingers through my hair. We repeated this for over 10 minutes. He made me feel rare and peculiar. I had never felt this way about anyone before. I squeezed him tighter and gripped my hand around his waist. I placed my head on his chest and gazed into his perfect eyes. I didn't want to look away. Ever! I took advantage of the time I had of this life and kept on looking. I know I won't have long to live. I can imagine the pain I'll go through, and the pain once I die.
My alarms goes off at 5am. My eyes drifted open, then rapidly as I knew we were going, to my favourite city in the world. Hugo didn't flinch. I pushed him repeatedly. "HUGO!" He opened his blunt eyes and looked at me. "You excited?" He yawned. "Of course I'm excited, but it would make more sense if we got there in time". He jumped up and instantaneously put his clothes on. "I'm ready Em, your not!" sarcastically. I put my denim shorts, my white blouse and a little cardigan. This was the first time we had been on holiday together, so it was pretty earmarked! I closed my rememberable eyes and took a deep breath. He lodged his hand onto my face and kissed me. I unlocked my eyes. "You ready?" He whispered. I nodded my head and smiled. I walked behind him as he lifted the two suitcases down the stairs. His veins popping out of his muscular arms. As I reached the bottom of the stairs I took control of my suitcase and stepped out the door. Hugo locked up and loaded the car. I hoped in the front seat and fastened the black seatbelt. The sun was starting to rise. But the street lights made the streets even brighter.
We arrived at Heathrow airport. I stepped out the black car and waited for Hugo to lift the suit cases out the boot. I clutched on to the handle and with the other hand I held Hugo. We walked into the lively airport and queued up. We waited in the line for a hour. "Hugo?". "Yes?" He replied. "Have you remembered the passports?". "Yes, I have them in my back pocket". "Good" I said. " is there a costa here?" I continued. "Yeah there's one upstairs when we go through security." We were next in line. Finally. I couldn't wait I get on the flight and relax. Knowing Hugo will look after me.
We made our way through the terrifying security. We strolled over to the bar. Whilst I was sitting in the original bar i casually gawked around the airport. There was a range of different shops. Then I noticed Hugo boss was one of the variety of different shops. "I'm just popping to the toilet" "okay sweetheart" he replied. But I didn't need the toilet. I quickly ran into Hugo boss and searched around until I spotted a grey and blue polo top. I sneakily picked the coat hanger up and placed it on the counter. "£55 please". I handed over the rough money and slowly walked out the shop. I stood behind Hugo and wrapped my arms around him. I sat down and handed him the Hugo boss bag. "What's that?" He asked. "A little present to say Thank you". " you didn't have to" he added. "Open it!" I insisted. He gradually opened it whilst looking at me. He pulled out the new top. He didn't say anything. He started to examine the top and checked the price tag. But I took it off him before he could examine it more. "I'll take it back if you don't like it". He insisted "No, I love it Emily! Thank you so much.". I handed the top back over and hugged him. "Our flight is in 10 minutes" I told him. "probably best if we go to the toilet". I agreed. We left the spectacular bar and headed for the gloomy toilets. He walked into the men's and I walked into the women's. There wasn't a queue, so I just walked in and walked out. He stood outside waiting for me. We were about to board so we headed for the gate. The attendance asked for our tickets and showed us were our uncomfortable seats were.
We landed at GFK airport. It was snowing. The snow lay gently on the runway as we walked into the airport. It was very minute and we didn't know our way around, as both of us had never been to this beautiful city before. A polite women showed us the way. After we had checked in we waited for a cab. A cab eventually came and we hoped in the back. "What hotel are we staying at Hugo?" I asked. "The ritz, Colton Central Park." "HUGO! That's the nicest hotel in New York!" I shouted. "I know, that's why I choose if because you mean the world to me Emily". The yellow cab pulled up outside the tall magnificent building.
As we walked through the royal, authentic hotel. A sparkling chandelier hung for the ruby ceiling above me. We took the lift up to our room. "Even the lifts big" I laughed. The door sprung open and our room was down the hall to the right. I opened the grand door and searched the room. My face dropped. It was beautiful and so unique. Our room was over looking Central Park. We had the most amazing view. The White snow covering the wild city. Hugo unpacked whilst I examined the luxurious room. Once he had finished unpacking he opened a bottle of champagne and poured a drink for us both. He also opened the tortillas, to go with the expensive champagne. "Can I take you somewhere tonight?" He asked. "Yeah!" I quickly replied. "It's quite special, so choose your best outfit" he insisted. I smiled but I wanted to jump up and down and kiss him. But I didn't.
Hugo popped into the shower whilst I got ready. But I noticed something on my stomach and my chest. I examined it for a minute. But I knew what it was. I thought it had gone. But it came back twice as worse. The cancer was supposed to go down. The rashes told different. I felt dizzy and sick. I didn't know what to do. I heard the drizzling water stop. I looked around the room to find a piece of clothing. I spotted a pale dressing gown and threw it around me. I was shaking and nervous. What happens if he finds out? He can't and he won't. Hugo came into the gold room and I sprinted into the bathroom and locked the door. I took the gown off and looked at the bruises once more. I slowly touches them and flinched. They were sore and red. The first thought that jumped into my head was I'm not going to make it. I'm going to die before we even get the chance to do anything like this again. I tried to get the horrible thought out of my aching head and put my new clothes on. I walked out the bathroom and shut the Ivory door behind me. "You look lovely!" Hugo said. "I haven't even done my hair or my makeup yet!". "Leave your hair like it is as it looks beautiful and don't bother doing your makeup you look fine like that darling" he said. "Thank you" I kissed him on the cheek and slipped into my wedges shoes. "You ready?" I politely asked. "Yeah, but you beat out your coat on as if is snowing". I picked up my long grey coat and wrapped it around me. Before I left the bedroom I sneakily grabbed the camera as I wanted the moment to last forever.
I hadn't been to New York before so I didn't really know where he was taking me or where we were. The city was dark but the lights kept it alive, the reflection of the glowing snow light up Central Park and the buildings surrounding it. We eventually got to where he wanted us to go. But I couldn't figure because he covered my unopened eyes. We dramatically stopped. "We here Hugo". But he didn't reply. "Hugo your scaring me now." He slowly released his sweaty hands from my anxious face. I opened my excited eyes, there was a sensational sky scrapping Christmas tree standing in front of me. I then realised we were in time square. The most romantic place I could think of. It was even more romantic as it was winter time. The whole city looked spectacular. The lights hung from the warming tree, shinning with a variety of different Christmas colours. I wanted to see Hugo so badly but I didn't know if it was appropriate. But I decided to find him anyways. I turned around and Hugo was on one knee holding the most pulchritudinous ring in his left hand. My eyes filled up as he said " Emily will you marry me?"
