Victoria Reyes, more known as Vicky, has one very important mission: save Shao Long from doing stupid things. Sure, she was assigned by Poposi's Student Council to go to Momosu for three weeks and do some tasks while simultaneously dodging boys asking her to be their date but she can't help but create a side quest.

Her friendship with Shao Long started pretty rough. They were ten, her mother doing business with one of the Xi family's companies, both dragged by their parents to join along just to see how the world of business is.

But now they were an unlikely duo. A positive, optimistic girl that sees the best in everyone and a boy with a fox-like personality? Bystanders could only think that it's the usual 'girl likes boy that doesn't care about her but she's too whipped to realise'.

And by bystanders, she meant the princes she had to live with because the room reserved for her had a leak. Vicky didn't mind whatever they might have thought about her and Shao Long. She's trying to save him.

"Vickyyyyy!" A very annoying yet sad voice broke her from her thoughts. Felix.

"Felix, please don't bother her. Don't you see she's reading?" Leon pointed to a book that sat firmly in her hands.

"Oh, no it's fine, Leon. I wasn't even reading..."

Yes she was. It was a pretty good scene in the romance novel too. The FL and ML that have been agonisingly slow at realising their feelings for each other were just about to kiss!

"Vicky. Leon asked me if I had an apple and someone tried to take it what do I do. I said I would smack their hand away and run and he said it's not the right answer because it's not the way you should deal with problems. But I AM right! If someone tried to steal something from you, you would run away too, right?" The Spaniard whined.

The girl could only sigh.

"Well, I would run away too but I think what Leon meant was 'how would you deal with a problem in a mature way?'. It's just that he tried to ask you that in a way you might understand. And it seems like it didn't work."

Leon looked defeated. "Yes... I may have tried to do that. It was a wrong way. I'm sorry, Felix."

Great now that's over. The other princes seemed to be doing alright. It was a Saturday so not much is going on. Ciel and Albert were arguing about something that Charles was desperately trying to break up.

Ah yes. Charles. The boy that got Shao Long kicked out of kindergarten. She remembered how her jaw dropped when Shao Long told her about that. How could you be that bad that you got kicked out of kindergarten? You were just a wee little kid! A baby!

She despised the blonde American for a while but quickly realised that Shao Long was clearly in the wrong too. Sure, fighting a kid that was disrespecting your lineage was amazing but pulling some random boy out of anger by the collar wasn't. She blamed the American school system too. It sucked and she prayed that if Charles does become President he will change that system.

Thinking about that Chinese boy, she sent a quick text to him.

Shao Long wasn't having it that morning. The air was nice and the smell of petrichor was relaxing, but maybe he woke up on the wrong side that morning. He could barely keep his eyes open yet can't seem to go back to sleep. He had a really awesome dream, too. He's desperately trying to go back to beating up dream-version Charles.

A ding from his phone made his eyes widen. The only person to text him that early in the morning was either one of the G-Squad(usually Livio) informing him that they'll be going somewhere without him or Vicky. His dormmates didn't have anything scheduled that day so it could only be Vicky.

He reached for his phone and opened the message. He groaned at the thought of getting out of bed(and leaving the chance to beat up Charles, even if this version wasn't real) but did it anyways. Vicky was the only light in his dark soul. He can't lose it no matter how annoying that light can be.

He waited at their usual meeting spot which was a frangipani tree with a bench safely under its shade. He never really liked the place because the flowers kept on falling on him and the fragrant scent of the flowers got too much but Vicky seemed to like it. Besides, she'll only be there for three weeks. He could handle a few flowers.

Vicky came into view with a guitar strapped on her back. Shao Long checked his watch. Exactly 9 a.m. Punctual, but he'd rather be earlier. Mostly so he could go back to beating dream Charles.

"Hi Shao Long."

"Hi." A cold, uninterested tone sounded. "Why did you call me here?"

"Why not? It's getting lonely in the princes' dorm."

"How? Is that French guy's nonsense not entertaining enough for you?"

She chuckled. "Yea, they're cool and all but it's like they all have their thing and my thing which is guitar playing... I don't have any idea so..."

"You called me here put of boredom?"

She nodded. He sighed.

"Well, I was planning on letting my room be my hibernation site for the rest of the weekend so it's okay if you dragged me out."

The two sat on the bench enjoying the morning breeze. Vicky decided that the silence was too loud and opened her guitar case, pulling out a beautiful acoustic guitar that had a purple puff key chain attached to a hole made on the headstock.

Shao Long took a quick glance at the case. Three photos were taped neatly on the interior. The first one was the second time Vicky and Shao Long met in person which was at her international basketball championship in Beijing. The second one was her family picture. Her mother sat on a cushioned chair wearing a red kimono while Vicky and her older brother stood behind. The third photo was a photo of her late father. The man was in his 40s, dashing in his military uniform ready to perform during a National Independence Day Celebration. It was the best photo of her father that she had.

Next to the photos was a velvet coloured handmade pocket.

"What's in the pocket?" Shao Long asked.

"The charm you gave me out of pity the first time we met."

"Ah..."

Vicky searched through her phone for any sheet music she could play. Finally, she found the one.

"Uhh... I'd rather play Merry-go-round of Life on piano but it won't hurt to try make a guitar cover."

"It's probably okay."

The girl started to awkwardly strum the instrument but soon got the hang of it. Shao Long just sat quietly and listened. Deep in his mind, he imagined that this was playing as he twirled around the room slapping every single Prince he wanted. He gave extra attention to Charles, making sure the American was thoroughly slapped.

Okay. That was a wierd fantasy.

No. He can't ruin such a beautiful song with violent imagination.

In Vicky's mind however, she imagined that the song was playing as she saw Shao Long graduate from the academy. She imagined that he had finally changed and her mission was complete. They walked out of the imaginary auditorium and danced. Maybe not to the guitar cover she made but to the original one that was beautiful and sets a person's mood to be happy and maybe nostalgic. Sure, it could be weird but a girl can dream.

All in all, step one of her mission was complete: get Shao Long out of his room and not make him think of the princes.

A/N: Sooo what do you think of my first one-shot? It came in my mind randomly and I actually don't know how an acoustic guitar version of Merry-go-round of Life would sound and I don't have any musical talent. So maybe any musicians reading this could try playing it?
