On the contrary, the right side emanated an aura of sweetness and brightness, peculiar artifacts, and a certain enchanting vibe that piqued curiosity. Elizabeth was in complete shock, looking around the room.
"Whoa," Elizabeth gasped, taking in the room with wide eyes. "This is. . . beautiful! I've never seen anything like this." Elizabeth added, looking over at the side of the room that was clearly meant for her.
Ashlynn smiled, nodding as she stepped inside the dorm as well. "When I heard you were going to be my roommate, I tried adding some things that'd make you feel at home." Ashlynn informed, referring to the small details and decorations she had put on Elizabeth's side.
A castle made of cards on her nightstand, as well as a bunch of little artifacts that did in fact make Elizabeth feel welcomed and at home. Looking over beside her bed, Elizabeth spotted a mirror, immediately being drawn to it.
Elizabeth sauntered over to the mirror, her fingers trailing over the ancient-looking mirror with intricate designs etched into the frame. "This is amazing. You've got amazing taste, Ashlynn." Elizabeth said, turning around and smiling at Ashlynn.
"I'm glad you think so," Ashlynn replied, feeling relieved that her roommate appreciated her eclectic style. Truth be told, Ashlynn spent a lot of time at shops, finding stuff she thought would be fitting for her new roommate. Trying to find things that were a little darker, yet still unbelievably fashionable.
Going over to the window, Elizabeth pulled open the pink curtains, revealing the beautiful view of outside. She then went over and admired her bed, seeing as it was neatly made and had the comfiest blankets she had ever seen.
"It's pretty nice, isn't it?" Ashlynn smiled, watching as Elizabeth smiled to herself.
Elizabeth looked over at her, nodding her head. "It's amazing!"
Seeing as how things were already going, Ashlynn realized that perhaps having Elizabeth as a roommate wouldn't be as challenging as she had initially thought. In fact, it might just turn out to be a delightful adventure, full of surprises and shared secrets in their magical dorm room.
The two had continued talking and getting to know each other for a bit, Elizabeth learning that Ashlynn was the daughter of Cinderella, and was also sister to someone whom she hadn't met yet — going by the name Chad Charming.
Elizabeth had told Ashlynn about her life on The Isle, and how amazing her friends were.
Though, the two were interrupted by a knock on the door. Both girls looked at each other, before Ashlynn spoke up. "Oh, maybe it's your friends!"
Elizabeth got up from her bed, going over to the dorm door and unlocking it. Opening the door, Elizabeth was surprised to see it in fact wasn't her friends — but Prince Ben. "Your highness," Elizabeth began.
"Please, just Ben." Ben replied. "No need for formalities."
Elizabeth nodded, then looked down to see a small box being held in his hands. Looking back up at Ben, she raised her brows. "I wanted to extend a special welcome to you on behalf of Auradon. May I come in?" Ben questioned, causing Elizabeth to look back at Ashlynn with raised brows.
Ashlynn raised her brows back before smiling at her, Elizabeth turning back around to face Ben with a smile. "Of course," Elizabeth replied, stepping back to allow him entry, her curiosity piqued.
Once inside, Ben revealed a beautifully crafted, ornate music box adorned with intricate designs of playing cards and roses, presenting it to Elizabeth with a gracious smile. "I wanted to give you this as a token of welcome to Auradon. It reminded me of your mother's kingdom. I hope you like it."
Elizabeth's eyes widened in pleasant surprise as she admired the box in his hands. Reaching forward slightly, Elizabeth hesitated. "May I?"
"Oh, of course." Ben said, handing her over the box, to which she accepted the gift, turning the music box over in her hands to admire its craftsmanship. "This is. . . truly thoughtful. Thank you. It's beautiful."
Ben smiled, "I'm glad you like it," Ben replied with a genuine smile. "If you need anything or have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're all here to support each other at Auradon Prep."
Ben bid her farewell, leaving the door open as he left the dorm. Elizabeth going over to her bed, sitting down on it before carefully opening the music box, letting the melodious tune fill the air.
She couldn't help but feel a sense of appreciation for the gesture. It was a small but meaningful token that made her feel acknowledged and valued in her new home.
Watching from the corridor, Prince Ben couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. He hoped the gift would help Elizabeth feel more at ease and welcomed in Auradon, fostering a stronger sense of unity among all the descendants.
As the music box's gentle melody echoed through the halls, it symbolized not only a royal gesture but also the promise of acceptance and understanding in a world where everyone was striving to find their place.
"What's that?" Ashlynn asked, her curiosity getting the better of her as she made her way over towards Elizabeth's bed, sitting beside her.
Elizabeth grinned, displaying the music box proudly. "It's some sort of musical box. Isn't it marvelous?"
"It is," Ashlynn replied with a smile. "Guess I'm not the only one trying extra hard to make sure you feel welcomed."
