Taking Off

- KARINA -

This is it we're leaving. Standing on the floor of the airport would be my last time, my last day in L.A and I'm not really happy about it. This has been my home for 18 years and it's hard to think that for the next upcoming years I'm in another place already.

Holding my bag, I once more roamed my eyes inside just to see if she came.

" Searching for her? " Somi asked, looking at where my eyes were staring.

The gang, Chaeryeong and Yuna are here with me, they want to see me before I leave for good.

"I'm still hoping she would come to see me " I forced a smile trying to hide my pain.

" Maybe she thinks that going here is not a good idea for the both of you." Seulgi replied, who's hugging me the entire time not letting me go.

" Yeah sure " my voice is weak and starting to break. I gaped down.

Aeri walked up to me and lifted my chin.

" Rina, look everything happens for a reason, maybe this time is not your time to be together, but we don't know in the future, right? " She tried to make the mood lighten up by sending me her beautiful smile.

" Right, maybe just maybe " then the mood drops off again. "

"Hey!!! hey!! hey, don't be like that, this is the last time you gonna see your best friends face to face so smile bestie " Ningning who was so silent from the very beginning suddenly blurted out. So, I uplift my mood to ease the sadness in their faces.

" Okay fine, come here now get now the free hug " I spread my arms to accept each of them, but every time I let go a tear escape from my eyes until all of us were crying while laughing.

" Oh god! I hate goodbyes. " Somi exclaimed, sobbing, wiping her tears.

" Bestie! Come to visit us whenever possible, okay? " Ningning's voice breaks while she continues holding my arm.

"I will " I kissed her cheek.

" Jim, be careful and for sure you can find happiness there." Minju said, smiling.

"I doubt that but I hope so. I'm going to miss you, cousin.... thank you for everything "

Then I turned to my left to hug my babies.

"Take care of yourselves, okay " I murmured still hugging them.

" You too, Karina." Chaeryeong and Yuna replied in unison.

" So, what's going to happen? Are you going to marry Jeno? " Yuna asked after we unlinked ourselves.

" Unfortunately, yes "I forced a smile and sighed.

"How about W... win—" Chaeryeong didn't seem to finish her words.

"I told her to move on and find a girlfriend who can stand for her. "

oh, shit that's hurt, why did you tell her that you idiot, Jimin. I know you can't watch her be happy with another girl.

but that's for the best.

Then Jaehyun voice came in.

" Baby we'll go, they're waiting " he said, waving at me while on the other hand Irene who saw Seulgi marched to us and bid her goodbye to them, but when it came to Seulgi, she hugged her so tight.

I couldn't hide my smile any longer when I saw that Irene kissed her. I didn't know either when these two started dating but Seulgi and Irene were open to being in a serious relationship.

" Goodbye, Seulgi. " Irene said, holding her hands.

"See you again, Irene. " She replied, smiling.

Irene carried my bag and put her arm around my shoulder.

" So, this is it guys, we're leaving. " I said, hugging then once more.

" See you again, Rina. " They mumbled until Ningning burst out crying.

She threw herself at me and enclosed me in her body.

"I'm going to miss you so much " she mumbled, soaking my shirt from tears. I tried not to cry but my own tears betrayed me and joined hers.

" Ningning, that's enough " Seulgi smacked her head, but take note Seulgi was crying harder than Ningning. She pulled Ningning from my body and replaced it with her own.

"I love you, Rina." She hardly spoke as she kissed my cheek.

"I love you too. "

"It's my turn guys......again " Somi exclaimed with her eyes so red. I hugged her like I was crushing her body.

"Be safe always. "

"I will, you too " when we untangled ourselves. I faced them all and told them.

" Guys please look after her, she doesn't have anybody so I'm worried about her "

" We will for sure, she's also our friend " Minju replied and I nod

After the most dramatic hugs and saying of hateful goodbyes. I waved at them and strode away. When we were about to turn to the left. I looked back in their direction to see the last glimpse of my good friends still waving at me.

- NINGNING -

" Oh god! I hate this day " I sniffed.

Aeri held me closer to her as we walked aiming for the exit.

" Winter? "

I heard Seulgi call and the next thing I knew all of us were searching for her.

" Where?" Somi asked, still searching.

"There. " Seulgi pointed out and we followed it with our eyes.

"Yes, that was her." Minju replied.

Winter was here all along watching Jimin going away. We ran towards her, who was sitting on the steel chair, her shoulders shrugged and just looking onto the floor.

" Winter "I called. She glanced up.

"Hi" she replied weakly.

" Why didn't you come near her? "

"I can't because If I did, I might stop her from leaving " her voice was shaking and for sure if she's not wearing sunglasses her eyes were red like ours.

" It's hard to see her walk away, it's killing me. " She added and she burst into tears.

We sat beside her and gave her a group hug.

" I know, I'm sorry Winter let's just hope for the best " I said and she nodded.

"I am really hoping for the best, the best for her - for the woman I really love " she mumbled quietly.

I then realized that her love for my best friend was really unconditional.
