Chapter 14

"Rain, you should tell Ple about your feelings. If she really cares about you, she will understand that she's unintentionally making you suffer and she will stop. Trust me" Payu said trying to stay calm, hoping that it could help Rain too.

"You're right...IF she cares about me. That's the point. Sometimes I feel like she agreed to date me just because she couldn't get you, she couldn't get the perfect Payu so she had to settle for ridiculous rain" Rain responded even more irritated.

"Rain, listen, nobody is perfect. You two just need to talk"

"Nobody is perfect... do you realize how stupid this sentence is? You're more attractive than me, you're more intelligent than me and that's what she wants! I will never reach her standards and she surely does her best to remind me of my inferiority every single day!" after yelling that, Rain ran out of the bathroom and went to hide in the guest bedroom.

Payu sighed and went back to the dining room. Everyone turned to him, they had clearly heard what Rain said since he was shouting so loud. Som's boyfriend took Rain's plate and started putting some food on it.

"What are you doing, Payu?" Som asked confused.

"I doubt Rain will come out of the guest room any time soon, so I'm going to give him something to eat" Payu responded. His boyfriend smiled, thinking about how kind Payu's heart was. Ple, on the other hand, was even more furious, she had to endure what she considered Rain's childish behavior and compare it to Payu's kind nature.

On his way upstairs, Payu couldn't help but think about Rain's sad face. He felt the urge to hug him tight, to make him feel protected and not judged by anyone. A part of him thought that Rain was just too naïve and that he was overreacting, but his heart was oppressed by fear: what if Ple was doing all of that because she still liked him?

"Rain? I'll leave something for you to eat here outside. I know you've probably lost your appetite, but try to eat just a few bites at least. Ok?" Payu requested kindly and moved away, knowing that Rain wouldn't have appreciated if he had found him standing still in front of the door.

Payu waited for a while behind a corner, but Rain didn't open the door. After several minutes, Payu gave up and went back downstairs. Ple asked him if Rain let him enter, Payu shook his head.

"Typical. He manages to be so stubborn sometimes..." Ple remarked.

"Ple, I don't think your constant comments about Rain's attitude will ever really help your relationship." Som added.

"So you side with him now?"

"I'm sure that Som just wanted to say that if you really care about your relationship, you should reach a compromise. Everyone has their flaws, so if his flaws are too much for you to handle, just let him go." Payu intervened.
