This is like between season 3 and 4 bc this is about them calling eachother.

Mike always tried to call Will. Everytime he had the chance to even touch the phone. He would try to call Will. He felt a bit werid though, wanting to call him so bad but he really missed him and El of course.

The phone was always clogged though because Joyce had a telemarketing job. Mike thought maybe he could send letters to Will but what if he writes something- questionable on the letter and El sees it, hhm?

Mike scratched that idea and just started to dial the number of the Byer's house. He really hopes Will answers, he hasn't talked to him in maybe a month?...

Then Mike hears a soft voice on the other side of the phone.

"Hello?" Will says softly from the other line

"You answered!" He says happily as he leans against the wall with the phone to his ear. His face mustering a smile.

"You called." He says softly.

Mike smiles grows.

"So...did you wanna talk to El-" Will says in the same soft tone then he gets cut off by Mike almost immediately.

"No!- Uhm...No..uh...I wanted to talk to you. Just you." He says quietly.

Will smiles.

"Okk.." Will says as he giggles a bit.

Mike felt a bit of butterflies in his stomach. He just heard his giggle and it made him feel nervous. Jesus..

"So..how California?" Mike says as he taps his finger against the phone gently.

"Erm...its fine." Will says, his voice lowers a bit.

Mike realizes this fairly quickly.

"You sure?..You getting bullied again?.." Mike says softly.

"No..uh- It's fine. As I said. Is everything good in hawkins?" Will says softly.

Mike sighs as he knows Will has changed and he's not as open as he used to be, especially with him.

"Uh- It's good. Max,Lucas,Dustin..their amazing but..it's the same without you." He says softly, a bit of flirtatious in his tone. He didn't even mean to sound like that but he did.

Will stays silent then Mike speaks again.

"And- El..I miss El too..." He adds quietly.

"No- I know" Will mumbles as he chuckles a bit.

Mike chuckles.

"Oh- Uhm....El said in one of her letters that you were making a painting...and she said..it's possibly for someone you like?" He says slowly

Will's face heats up, he's so happy he's not with Mike right now. It would make it even more embarrassing.

"Oh!- uh...Maybe. Yeah. It's nothing though." Will says as he forces a chuckle.

"Mmmm...okay." Mike mumbles as he plays with his hair.

There's a moment of silence then you can Hear Joyce yell Will's name.

"Uhh..I gotta go. Bye" Will says softly as he's about to place the phone down.

"Wait!-" Mike mumbles.

Will lifts the phone back to his ear.

"Hhm?" Will hums in response.

"I love you." Mike says in a hushed tone as he quickly puts the phone on the holder.

Will's breath catches "Mike? Hello?!" He says softly, he sighs and puts the phone down.

Then he Stares into space as his smile grows.

"William!" Joyce yelps form upstairs.

Will jumps. "I love you too." He mutters before running up the stairs to see what Joyce wanted.
