Frisk woke up in Asriel's old room.

Frisk looked around and noticed Asriel sleeping next to him

Frisk still looked sick.

Frisk rubbed his eyes and tried to stand. His body was still weak.

His body collapsed under him.

Moving was a chore.

"Woah woah woah... You shouldn't be up and moving around." Asriel said, lifting Frisk again, back up on the bed, and feeling Frisk's forehead. "You need to rest."

Frisk tried to speak with sign language. regardless if anything he said even made sense didnt matter. Asriel could only understand basic words and phrases.

"Boy, I wish I could actually understand you..." Asriel said "Maybe communication skills wouldve helped us"

They both sat in silence.

Asriel seemed distant. Seeing Frisk in this state seemed to remind him of something.

Frisk, despite feeling awful, didn't feel like he needed to be taken care of.

"I feel guilty for this, y'know... It's my fault you are even in this condition." Asriel looked down. "Who knows when help will even arrive? a couple weeks?"

Frisk frowned at Asriel being too hard on himself. When he spoke up, he was thrown into another coughing fit.

Asriel immediately looked at him. "Are you going to be okay this time?!"

Frisk didn't have the time for hand gestures. His face was already red

Asriel took initiative and got Frisk down on a hard surface, before performing CPR just as he did before.

Frisk started breathing again. his cheeks get any less red as he started breathing.

"I wish I knew why you cant talk anyways..." Asriel said

Frisk sat up, a little dizzy, but managing a smile.

"You used to be able to speak... You had a lovely voice, too... Now, it seems like you can't use your voice at all..." Asriel said "That is, not without being thrown into a fatal coughing fit"

Frisk looked as if even if he could talk about it, he wouldn't.

Asriel stood up. Frisk went to do the same, but Asriel stopped him.

"You'll just fall over again. Sit tight." Asriel said

Frisk folded his arms. He hated not being able to do anything at the moment.

"Now don't act like that. You did technically do this to yourself" Asriel said, his hands on his hips "I still cant understand why..."

Asriel left the room, trusting that Frisk would hold still

Asriel went into the kitchen, knowing very well there weren't many groceries in there.

All he could find was ingredients for pie, but his fire magic wasnt the greatest. Suddenly, he heard a thump from the room.

Asriel rushed in.

"Didn't I tell you to stay put?" Asriel asked. "You really outta-"

Frisk looked weaker than he did before.

"Oh- You look awful... Here... I have a lot of HP. Maybe I could..." Asriel tried healing Frisk. This seemed to help a little.

Asriel sat on the bed, tucking Frisk in so he didn't move anymore.

"We're going to be alone for a while... so we should probably stock up on food - although, we'd technically be stealing, im the prince of the underground. I'm sure my parents can afford to pay those monsters back."

Asriel thought for a moment.

"Are you fine with staying here alone for a little while?"

Frisk nodded

"And you aren't going to be on the floor by the time i get back?"

Frisk crossed his fingers and nodded.

Asriel left the room.

immediately after Frisk heard him leave, he got up to try and walk again and immediately failed. He felt helpless.

Asriel returned with water and food.

"This should last us at least a few..." he set the food and water down and went to help Frisk up again.

Asriel picked Frisk up in a new way this time. instead of holding him up by the shoulder, he picked frisk up like a baby. This was by no means easy for him to do, but it was easier than his last method.

"You said youd stay put..." Asriel said

Frisk crossed and uncrossed his fingers at Asriel, hoping he'd get it.

"Why would you lie to me?" Asriel asked. He truly didn't do anything wrong to Frisk, and the way he asked this just made Frisk feel bad for lying. He truly didn't know why he did it in the first place.

Frisk just lowered his head.

Asriel sighed. "I need to be able to trust you."

Frisk nodded.

Asriel smiled. It was contagious.

"So, Frisk... i was wondering..."

Frisk listened.

"If you get your voice back, will you ever tell me what happened."

Frisk signed "it will come back" and 4 more words Asriel couldn't understand

"How long will it take?" he asked.

Frisk thought for a moment then held up 3 fingers.

"Days?" Asriel asked. Frisk shook his head. "weeks?" no. "months?!" still no. "YEARS?!"

Frisk nodded.

"Oh, my..."

Asriel went silent for a moment.

"Was it an injury that caused it?"

Frisk shook his hand back and fourth

"Was it an accident?"

Frisk shook his head.

"It was on purpose? but..."

Frisk looked at his hands.

"Did you do it to yourself?"

Frisk shook his head immediately.

"Then... who could've done this to you?" Asriel was deep in thought, thinking of every awful possibility.

Frisk understood that this question would bug Asriel until the day he found the true reason.

He gave a playful punch to Asriel's arm and gave him a warm smile.

"hahaha... oww..." Asriel rubbed his arm.

Frisk felt a sharp pain in his chest suddenly, but didn't communicate this to Asriel because... how could he?
