Avery's POV:

For the love of god, will you bite your tongue

Before we make you swallow it

It's moments like this where silence is golden

(And then you speak)

No one wants to hear you

No one wants to see you

So desperate and pathetic

I'm begging you to spare me

The pleasure of your company

(When did the diamonds leave your bones?)

I'm burning down every bridge we made

I'll watch you choke on the hearts you break

I'm bleeding out every word you said

Go to hell for heaven's sa-

One of my headphones was cruelly ripped from my ear and tossed across the space classroom. I simply sighed and began to mentally prepare myself for the taunting that would follow. I glanced up at Carly, mentally strangling her as she smirked at me smugly.

"Aww, was the freak listening to her emo music?" She taunts in a mock baby voice, and I roll my eyes at her.

"It's rude to ignore someone you bitch! Didn't your mommy ever teach you manners? Oh wait, she was too busy beating your sorry ass," she laughs mockingly.

I sigh and stand up, looking for my discarded headphones. I spot them near the door and I immediately rush over to them, ignoring Carly's gawking expression. A stray leg sticking out from one of the desks causes for me to trip and fall to the floor, and I groan just as the door opens, and a crowd of students enter, trampling over my poor, sweet headphones.

I glance up and Carly towers over me, her hands on her hips as she smugly smirks, dangling my broken headphones in front of me. "Looks like the little skank won't be listening to music today."

I scowl at her and stand, pushing past her and running to the bathroom. The bell rings the second I set through, and I exhale in annoyance. Why does the universe hate me so fucking much?

I splash cool water in my face, careful not to smudge my extensive amount of eye makeup. I hastily blink back my tears; it's pointless to cry over these assholes. Because one day, I'll be out of here, and I'll never be looking back.
