"Fuck." I said quietly, I wasn't trying to wake anyone up but I just had to be a dumbass and run into the couch. I'd lived in this damn place for two years. I sighed. I walked slowly, not wanting to run into anything else.
"Hyung?" I just about had a heart attack when I heard Minjun's honey-like voice flow through the room. I turned on the light and saw him on the couch. His knees were pressed to his chest and his arms were wrapped around his legs. My heart fluttered at the sight of his sleepy smile. It was dopy and adorable. I loved it so much. I sighed. I loved all of him actually. Well, I loved Kat and Xiao too. More than I wanted to admit but Minjun, he was Minjun. That was the best way I could describe him. I wasn't in the most normal situation. If someone found out I was into guys, they'd go crazy but they'd flat out have a heart attack if they knew I was into three specific ones. My heart clenched at the thought.
"Baby, why are you awake?" His smile brightened.
"I could ask you the same thing. Why are you just getting home?" I sighed at his change of subject. I was busted and wasn't getting out of this one. He wasn't my leader but he sure as hell would reprimand me if he saw it necessary to.
"I was at the company." He stood up and walked toward me, wrapping his arms around my waist. My skin burned beneath his touch as if he was a wildfire that I got caught in. His face sobered the moment he smelt the alcohol on me. He raised a brow. Fuck.
"Really? Then why do you smell like an expensive bottle of wine?" It was my turn to raise a brow.
"How the hell do you know what expensive wine smells like?" A blush crept up his cheeks at my words. My heart fluttered again. I internally cussed at myself for reacting to him the way I did.
"Don't act like you don't all spoil me." He huffed. "Gege bought it for me. It was delicious." His face reddened as he thought about Xiao. I didn't blame him. Xiao was... amazing. "Seriously though. Why do you smell like alcohol?" He pulled away then and his lips pressed into a thin line. It only took me a moment to realize what he thought.
"No, baby. It's not what you think." He took another step back and looked away.
"Then what was it? You don't drink wine. Ever. You hate it." I sighed and pulled him back to me. He only fought for a moment before melting into me again. I wasn't completely sure how he felt about me but I wasn't completely oblivious either. There was something there. I knew it and so did he. We just couldn't say it out loud.
"Hajoon Hyung and Juwon Hyung invited me to dinner. I went and got drunk. You hate being around me when I'm drunk so I went back to their place and sobered up first. I wasn't about to come home to you like that." He raised a brow.
"That's all it was?" I nodded with honesty. That's all it really had been. Minjun was uncomfortable around drunk people because of his past. He drank but never got drunk and the rest of us drank on occasion but we never went around Minjun until we sobered up. We loved and respected him. We respected his feelings.
"I promise." He looked at me for another moment before nodding. His green eyes were bright and he looked at me like he could see directly into my mind.
"Go take a shower and go to bed." He turned around and began the walk back to his room. I wrapped my hand around his wrist to stop him. He looked back at me with questioning eyes.
"Why were you awake?" He frowned.
"I woke up. You weren't home yet and I got worried. Forgive me for caring," I pulled him back into my arms and sighed.
"I'm sorry for worrying you, little one." He was shorter than me by several inches but still managed to wrap his arms around my neck. I smiled and kissed his forehead. I could feel his heartbeat under my palm. His heartbeat was normally fast but it was unusually fast at that moment. His words came out in a whisper when he spoke again.
"Next time, call me or at least text me so that I know you're okay." I nodded and pulled him closer to me. He rested his head against my chest.
"I will. I promise." He looked up at me.
"We don't break our promises to each other, Hyung." I shook my head.
"No. We don't. Now go back to bed." He nodded but instead of walking toward his room, he walked in the direction of mine and Kat's room. I chuckled. Kat was at home visiting his family. His sister just had a baby so he took some leave to go see her and his new nephew. I walked behind him. I closed the door when we got into my room. Minjun jumped into my bed and got comfortable while I went to take a shower. When I came back, he was waiting for me. He followed my every step as I dropped my towel and put on pajama pants. It's not like he hadn't seen me naked before but he always acted like it was the first time. I couldn't help but smirk as I got into my bed and pulled him into my arms. He hummed before saying a good night and snuggling deeper into my side. God, Minjun was going to be the death of me and although a part of me was so scared of the situation, the other part of me didn't wish to be anywhere else in the world.
