Chapter - 3
____________Decade ago.
___"Dad? Where are we going?" Lexi asked his father.
"We going to your Aunt's house." March smiled and picked up his little daughter from the car.
"Aunt? The one you always talk about?" Lexi's chubby cheeks widely spread to smile ear to ear as he laughed from the amusement and nodded.
"Yes, your aunt always asks me when I can bring you over, now I guess is the time."
March Erens and Lexi entered and were greeted by Savannah wholeheartedly.
"Aww, why are you hiding sweetheart, come to your aunt." Savannah opened her arms with the warmest smile as Lexi stared at her for some seconds.
She was in her eyes a creepy villainous lady who could turn into a witch any time and eat her alive, her makeup was tired and horrible, her eyes were dim and her eyebags were evident, and she was beautifully scary for someone soft-hearted like Lexi.
She never thought that her aunt would look that contrast to what she had imagined and drawn before.
"Savannah, you okay?"
"Huh?"
"Lexi is shy around new faces, she will be glad to know about you, after all, you're her only aunt." March winked and Savannah just eye-rolled playfully at his stupid brother.
Lexi clenched her father's coat.
March and Savannah sat and talked about what had happened recently as Lexi sat there helplessly like a real-life doll, looking around, pouting, glaring at her aunt sometimes, and half-sleeping.
Not until she saw someone looking at her through the other side of the room.
Without blinking she stared curiously at who was standing behind the pillar, with a height no more than a lamp stand, short-haired kid around her age peeked with the same rising curiosity.
She jumped from her seat after some time when he didn't step to reveal himself.
March and Savannah noticed her going somewhere but the manor was safe and secured so they didn't mind it.
As Lexi tried to face the boy, he stepped back and started going deep inside the maze like a big Manor, she was more curious to meet who the person was, so she followed him around everywhere.
"Wait-Who are you?" But even after calling him several times he didn't stop and kept running away from her.
When he vanished in the darkest corner of the Manor, she paused and stared at the spot, there was this conflicted feeling rising.
She called him again - "I know, you're there, come outside."
But nobody came into sight, something flew on her way and she backed up, getting tensed.
The paper lay in her sight as she picked it up and read.
Monsters are everywhere.
"Okay? Hey, I am not a kid, I know there's no such thing as Monsters." She toothlessly laughed and put the paper in her pocket.
*she is a kid actually though*:")
She folded her hands and stood there facing whoever he was.
"Come out now," She said.
She gulped when something moved in the darkness, her legs wobbled but she knew someone was trying to scare her.
But her eyes almost bulged out when she found a full-size man walking out of there, her heart shrank as she wasn't expecting it, she stepped backwards in horror and her back hit something.
