Gun range

I woke up late it was 10am last nights events hung over my head remembering mine and Ghost's conversation.

I got out of bed and got ready, my hair was wild but I left it as it because I didn't have the mental capacity to deal with it today. I got into some cargo trousers and a simple black crop top. I threw on my big jacket that I used in missions and my combat boots. I added a little make up to make myself look less like a zombie and more normal. The hangover was hanging bad.

I left my room and headed straight for the gun range, I had already missed breakfast but that was ok because my stomach wanted to hurl. Before entering the gun range I got a bottle of water and chugged it not realising how dehydrated I was. As I entered the only other person in there was Gaz.

'Morning Gaz' I said with a smile while looking over the guns.

'Morning pea' he said with a smile. 'How are you?'

'I'm not too bad, just practicing for the up and coming mission. I can't afford to miss a shot, how are you though. I feel like I haven't seen you in a while?' I said while picking up an M9 and ear defenders.

'I'm all ok, just like you preparing for the mission. Need to go work out in a little bit. It's very busy around here with everyone training' he said while putting his equipment away. 'I will see you later pea' he said with a wave and left.

This left just me in the range and it was weirdly quiet. I put in my ear defenders, loaded my gun and aimed at the target. I shot, headshot. I reloaded. Shot. Chest. Reload. Shot. Head. Reload. Shot. Head. It was a continuous process, aim shoot repeat. Not letting me have time to aim properly not allowing myself to have a good line up as I wouldn't get that pleasure on the mission. I put down the M9 and looked at the assault rifles. AK-47. The most well known assault.

I kept shooting using different guns for what seemed like 5 minutes when in reality it was now 1pm. I rolled my shoulders a familiar aching sensation in them from all the shooting. I left the range and bumped into Ghost.

'Fuck. Sorry' I said quickly not wanting an argument to pursue. I looked up at him meeting his eyes.

'This where you have been all morning? He said not acknowledge my apology to him.

'Yes, I've been here since like 11am. Price said we needed to brush up on our skills so I am.'

'Noted. Everyone thought you had run away.'

'But I saw Gaz this morning he knew I was here. We spoke here' I thought relaying what he just said 'why would people thought I ran away?'

'Not sure, and I don't care but at least you aren't MIA. Have you eaten.' His question took me back, I was expecting to be lectured.

'Erm no not yet. I missed breakfast and lunch' I say while shrugging 'it's ok though I'm not very hungry'

'Follow' he spun on his heels and left. He had long strides which made it hard to follow him. We went into the 141 common and he placed a plate into the microwave to heat up. After it had warmed he placed it down on the table.

'Sit. Eat'

'Ghost it's fine. I'm not hungry' I said while sitting.

'I don't care. Eat the food'

I didn't realise I was actually hungry until I started eating the food. I ate it in silence while stood and drank a cup of tea. It was a comfortable silence so I didn't mind too much. I'm not sure what was making him be so nice but I didn't mind. He was weirdly vey comforting to be around.

'The group is going to the bar tonight. Do you want to come?' Ghost said breaking the silence.

'No I'm ok, I want a quiet night tonight. Didn't get much sleep last night' I said while washing up my plate. 'Thank you for asking though' with a small smile.
