~ Niall's P.O.V. ~

The DJ had fallen asleep on his turn tables, people were asleep on the dance floor, and all the bartenders were asleep except one who was drinking his sorrows away.

I sat at the counter and asked him for a drink. He quickly made me one and continued drinking. I quickly drank my own.

I stood up and walked out of the late night bar. I didn't want to return home too drunk to Amber Rose. She hates when I come home drunk.

Amber Rose is my fiancée. We have been dating for 2 years now and I finally got enough money for the ring. We are to be married in a few months. She wants a grand wedding, but I only want a simple traditional one.

I had only had one drink, so I was free to drive myself home. I walked around the medium sized building to the parking lot. I scanned my eyes over the lot, but didn't spot my car. I walked over to it's usual parking spot to discover my car's mirror laying there. It had been broken off at some point. Someone must have stolen my car. Great.

I pulled out my phone and dialed the non-emergency police number and reported my car missing. The battery flashed at fifty seven percent. The time was around one thirty. I started to walk home. I figured the walk would take me at least a few hours because the bar was a good distance from my house. I did not have any money to call a taxi.

A while later, I was walking down a dark street. It gave off an eerie and an unfriendly feeling. I felt as if something was going to go horribly wrong, but I just shook off the feeling, blaming my imagination. It was almost three in the morning. I then noticed two men dressed in dark clothes carrying a large sports duffle bag out to a dumpster in an alleyway. Why would they be out at three in the morning? What is in that bag? I decided to find out.

I hid behind a large recycling bin and waited. The two men exited the alley and walked back up the street. When they were gone, I crept into the alley and over to the dumpster. I opened the lid and climbed inside. It was disgusting and reeked like mold, but I needed to know what was in that bag. I slowly unzipped the bag to find a bruised and battered girl.

I knew I had to act fast. I checked for a pulse. She was still alive.

I whipped out my phone as fast as I could. My hands shook like mad as I dialed 911.

"911, what is your emergency?" A woman speaks.

"Hello? Please, I need an ambulance. I found a beat up girl in a dumpster. She's still alive, but she's not doing well. Please, hurry!" I whisper-shouted in a panic.

"Sir, calm down. What is your location?" She said.

"The corner of Washington and Pine."

"Sir, please remain on the line. An ambulance is on the way."

A few minutes later, I heard the blaring sirens from outside the dumpster. I slowly lifted the lid.

"In here! Help!" I shouted.

Medics rushed over and helped me out and pulled the duffle bag out too. They pulled the girl from the bag and laid her on a stretcher. They lifted it into the ambulance. Just as they were about to close the doors, I called out.

"Wait! Can I go with you?"

A medic nodded and I sprinted to the ambulance. I heaved myself up and into the vehicle and sat on the seat.

We finally arrived at the hospital and they rushed the girl into surgery immediately. Right after they rushed her away, I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I pulled it out to see the screen flashing "Amber Rose". I hit the green button and raised it to my ear.

"Hey, babe!" I said.

"Don't you "Hey babe!" me, Niall! It's almost four in the morning! What the hell! I've been waiting for you to get home since six!" She screamed at me.

"Wait, I can explain-"

"I don't want to hear your stories, Niall! Are you drunk?"

"No, Amber Rose, you'll never believe what happened-"

"Yeah, I know. Another one of your fake stories to cover up for you being drunk? I don't think so. Don't bother coming home."

"Am-"

The call ended. She hung up on me.

I'd explain to her when I got home. I needed to make sure this girl was okay.

I was sitting in the waiting room when a nurse came out. I went to her.

"Are you here because of the beaten girl who was found?"

"Er, yes, are you with her?" She asked.

"Yes, I found her. Is she okay?"

"Yes, right this way."

She led me down a long hallway to a private room.
