While escaping from zombies, I threw myself into a classroom. Quickly, I pulled a desk behind the door and shouted:
"- I didn't deserve this; I shouldn't be experiencing these!"
I was severely injured, sat down for a moment. The sounds had stopped, so I opened the door. There was a deathly silence in the corridor; the school was pitch dark. Suddenly, I heard a footstep and a voice:
"- Any last words, Egemen?"
At that moment, I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. I knew the one saying this, but I couldn't identify them in the darkness. I immediately started running towards the conference hall at the end of the corridor. They were following me, getting closer. The door was closed, and as a last resort, I sprinted towards it, planning to shoulder-check it. My adrenaline was at its peak; finally, I threw my shoulder against the door. I fell to the ground with their momentum, and behind me, a horde of zombies was approaching.
NOW
Egemen wake up to the alarm like every day. He had a dream in his mind, but he didn't think much of it. He brushed off the dream, thinking it was just a dream. His sister Demet came to him and scolded:
"- Come on, Egemen, we're going to be late; get ready quickly."
"- Okay, sis, ugh."
Egemen, having an elder sister in 11th grade, an elder brother in 10th grade (Ege), and a sister his age (Büşra), got ready following their warnings. The four of them left the house. Finally, they arrived at school, and Egemen, who had slept through the first class, woke up with the bell and went outside. His close friend Bayram came up to him. Bayram was a good kid but a bit naive. Egemen usually treated him poorly.
"- Egemen, I watched TWD last night; it really hooked me. I think you should watch it too; it might come in handy someday."
"- Nonsense, Bayram, zombies are not real and will never be. Besides, stop watching series; study a bit."
Egemen said, brushing off Bayram, but Bayram was used to it and didn't mind. As Egemen was about to get annoyed seeing Zeynep, his crush, Bayram stopped him:
"- Come on, Egemen, drop this habit. Let's sit in the cafeteria; I'm bored of sitting in the classroom."
This time, Egemen listened to Bayram, and they pulled a table from the cafeteria and sat down. While they were sitting idly, Arda joined them. Arda was a good kid, but a bit spoiled and arrogant. Egemen kept his distance because he suspected Arda had a crush on Büşra. Arda was one of Bayram's best friends. Arda came and sat at the table:
"- Hi, guys, what's up?"
Bayram: "- Good, Arda. Did you watch TWD yesterday?"
Arda: "- Yeah, I did. It was excellent. At which episode are you?"
Arda and Bayram delved into a deep conversation. Egemen didn't want to hear the word TWD anymore. He promised himself to watch it today. While Egemen was sitting, five 12th-grade students came to the cafeteria, looked at Egemen, and laughed. Egemen muttered to himself, "I will take you all down one day." The 9th graders were generally not liked by the 12th graders because they often made fun of them and bullied some. The 11th graders were no different from the 12th graders. The 10th graders kept to themselves. The 9th graders were the ones excluded and subjected to bullying. This polarization could lead to significant problems in the future. The principal had tried to solve this issue many times, but it never worked. While Egemen was muttering, the bell rang, and they went to the third class. For Egemen, the day had passed normally. As he was walking out, his brother Ege asked him something:
"- I heard some girls were making fun of you today, Egemen."
"- What? Who are they, bro?"
"- I don't know them, but I'll find out tomorrow."
Egemen thought to himself, "Probably those teenage girls," and continued walking. After doing his homework at home, Egemen, influenced by watching TWD, immersed himself in thoughts, taking a knife.
New York, 23:20. The secret organization meeting continued in the Grand Meeting Room. Defense ministers of important countries awaited the leader of the secret organization, Hendrick. Finally, Hendrick arrived and immediately began speaking:
"- Today, we have gathered here to carry out a very important matter. As you know, if the world population continues to grow at this rate, by 2050, the world population will exceed 10 billion. This is a catastrophe. The world's resources will not be enough to feed 10 billion people. So, today I have gathered you for a crucial plan. Tomorrow morning, the grand plan begins. With your permission, let me get into the details. Right now, all the planes and aircraft carriers in the world are under our command. They are all in the desired positions and await our command. The plan is simple, actually. The planes are now ready to release the zombie virus we discovered a year ago. They will release zombies from low altitude. Then, they will bomb the designated targets and finish the job. Thank you for listening. We will achieve more with you. Respectfully."
