Into the New Year

Kate's POV:

"New year, new me." Y/N mutters as she slips a white dress on. I set my phone down, smiling as I admire how beautiful she looks.

"More like new year, same me but just with different goals." I correct, a smile now on Y/N's face as she turned to me, sitting on the bed next to me, resting her head on my shoulder.

"Well." She laced our fingers together, resting them on top of my thigh. "This has been one hell of a year for us, huh?"

"Yeah." I chuckled. "At least it's over though, but, I'll admit, there were a few good moments." I say and she looks at me curiously.

"Like what?"

"Like meeting you." I pushed our shoulders together, Y/N scoffed playfully, making me giggle. "It's true! Asking you out was the best decision I've ever made."

"And now we've been dating for 8 months." Y/N added, moving to straddle my waist, wrapping her arms around my neck. "Best 8 months ever."

"And I can't wait for more." I whisper sweetly, nuzzling our noses together after I leaned my forehead against hers. I smiled, one of my hands reaching around to rub the small of her back, feeling Y/N's hand on the back of my neck, playing with the baby hairs.

"I love you, so much, Bishop." Y/N pulled away, emphasizing those words to me after cupping my face, looking down at me with soft eyes.

I gave her a dopey smile, tilting my head as she played with my hair, making me relax. "I love you so much more, Y/L/N." My girlfriend giggled as she began pecking all over my face, content filling my body as I just sat there, letting her, closing my eyes in bliss.

"Cutie." She mumbled on my lips, kissing them slowly before she pulled away, slowly standing up and offering her hand out for me. "C'mon, let's go out to the rest of the party."

"Okay." I replied, standing up and taking her hand in mine, keeping her close to my side as we walked out to the rest of the party.
