Chapter 5 - The Determined Duo

Location - Station Entrance

Your POV

"Umiri?"

It was Umiri, that girl I meant on the train awhile ago. Did she caught me singing just now? I know some people liked it, but my gut is telling me that she didn't.

"(Y/N)-kun... do you know who this girl is?" Mitsuka asked.

"Yeah. I met her on the train once before." I answered.

Umiri walked closer to me, and she gave me a stare that sent a shiver down my spine.

"So, I heard you singing just now. Am I right?" She asked.

"Yeah. I'm building up my confidence for the music contest Ave Mujica is hosting."

"I see."

With nothing else to say, Umiri just gave me a smile before walking away. Mitsuka and I were very confused about it.

"What was that about?"

"To be honest, I don't know..."

A few minutes later

Umiri's POV

The contest is fast approaching, and I already met one of the people who plans on entering.

Sounds like that (Y/N) boy I met on the train, and that girl next to him must be his friend.

As I walked further and further away from them, I let out a smile, knowing how interesting this competition is going to be.

"(Y/N) (L/N)... you certainly have my attention."

The day of the competition...

Location - Music Hall

Your POV

Today is the day of the competition, and it took place a weekend. Definity a good idea to do it on a day where a lot of people are free. 

I am currently at the music hall with Mitsuka, the same music hall where Ave Mujica have had their recent show. It was decided that the two of us were going to play instruments during the competition to make us stand out. Mitsuka decided to play the guitar, and I decided to go with the bass. 

It should go without saying that I am a little bit nervous to be doing this, but thankfully, my friend was here to help me out. More minutes have gone by, and the members of Ave Mujica appeared before us. 

"Hello, everyone." Oblivionis said. "Thank you for taking part in this competition."

"As you all know, this is a music competition to see if you're worthy of knowing the identities of Ave Mujica." Timoris spoke next.

"Given how many people are curious about us, it makes us happy to see all of you here." Amoris said.

"Do your best." Mortis said.

"Make sure to have fun as well." Doloris finished.

"How about we start with our first performance? Mitsuka-san and (Y/N)-san, we'll start with you too."

"Right."

Mitsuka and I took the stage together, and we got our instruments ready. And so, Mitsuka and I started performing our single song together.

"That was amazing, wasn't it?" I asked Mitsuka once the song was over.

"Yeah, it was! The way you were playing the bass just now... it was sending a shiver down my spine." Mitsuka replied.

"But to be honest, the way you played the guitar has won me over." I added.

Mitsuka started blushing.

"Aww, that's so sweet of you to say."

Mitsuka and I got off the stage to make room for the next contestant of the competition. Who will win? Well, there's only one way to find out.
