Kid ritz pov:

Colorful lights lit up the concert hall as velvet and veneer's voices rang throughout the building. Fans stomped their feet and cheered for their performance. I felt so lucky to be able to be in the front row. Since I worked under the most popular interviewers in Mount Rageous I was sent out to see if the duo was worthy of an interview. While I loved both of the singers, veneer seemed to catch my attention the most. The way he danced, his voice, his confidence. It enchanted me.

I watched him as they performed, admiring his every move. As he sang, looking across the audience, we seemed to make eye contact. I looked into his eyes as my face became a shade of pink. His gaze didn't stray from mine as he continued to sing. Velvet elbowed him as they regrouped on stage. He looked at her, his eyes nervous as he continued to sing, only making eye contact with the dark space behind me. Did he really look at me or was I just imagining things? Why was I the one to catch his attention?

The concert continued on and when the lights dimmed at the end of the show, everyone began to cheer. They both bowed on stage. Veneer looked up and his eyes seemed to search the crowd, once again, meeting my eyes. I guess I wasn't imagining things.

Velvet and Veneer walked off stage and the room began to clear. I sighed, I had hoped the fun wouldn't end so quickly. I slowly made my way to the exits, following the crowds. As I made my way to the door I was stopped by a guard. My heart began to race. Did I do something wrong? He pulled me aside, "It's your lucky day. The stars have decided they wanted you to come backstage." He rested his hand on my shoulder as he led me through a back door. "Don't make a scene. They don't want a giant crowd banging on their door." I gulped, I hope this isn't some sort of trick. I followed hesitantly.

We made it to a black door with the word 'STARS' printed in gold. The guard knocked on the door and it opened to velvet's annoyed expression. "Why the hell did you bring some rando to my room?" she grumbled. The door was opened wider and veneer poked his head around the corner. My heart was skipping beats. I was standing in front of velvet and veneer! "Oh good! You brought the right one!" Velvet slowly looked over, glaring at veneer with a fake smile. "We're not talking to anyone right now." she hissed as she slammed the door in my face. I could hear the duo fighting on the other side. Velvet clearly settled it quickly with yelling.

"Well, at least you saw them. You can be on your way now." the guard said as he nudged me in the direction we came from. I continued walking down the hallway to the exit and into the parking lot. I wonder if Veneer knew I was a journalist? Maybe he wanted to talk to my boss. I got into my car and started it up. The radio began to blare velvet and veneer's newest album. I smiled, thinking about how close I had been to them. Since I'm a new interviewer I haven't actually gotten the chance to talk to big celebrities like them.

Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to be on screen with them.

Veneer's pov:

While me and Velvet were singing,... someone caught my attention. Something about them made me feel... infatuated.

I've never seen someone in that way. I don't even know how to really describe it. There wasn't really anything that drew them from the crowd. They weren't much different from everyone else but something about them seemed to allure me.

I decided to ask one of the guards to find them for me after the show. I didn't think of what Velvet would even say. When we got a knock at the door I was happy to see that I was able to describe them well enough so the guard could find them. I felt a rush of nervousness and excitement. It made my stomach feel sick. I wonder if this is what it feels like to have a ... crush.

Velvet had opened the door, "Why the hell did you bring some rando to my room?" she said, her voice filled with annoyance. I quickly pushed my way over to the door. "Oh good! You brought the right one!" I looked at them admiring their looks from a closer view. "We're not talking to anyone right now." velvet said in a deadpan voice as she slammed the door shut. She turned around to face me. My smile weakened and I realized that was probably my only chance to see them.

"Why the hell did you invite some lame ass fan to come to my-our room!" she yelled. My eyes grew wide. I didn't think she would get mad over something so little. "We'll, I-I'm sorry. I just figured it'd be a cool idea to talk to a fan once in a while." I sighed. She rolled her eyes, "You have no good ideas. Leave the thinking to me, It's clearly not your strong suit."

I didn't feel like backing myself up. All my ideas never seemed to work out. That's why she was in the lead. I just kept my mouth shut and sat on the sofa in our room. Vel began to pace, "We have another show tomorrow night and I'm hoping we can get onto tv to broaden our number of viewers." she tapped her finger on her chin, "Crimp!! You better get everything ready for tomorrow!" Crimp was rushing around grabbing all our things. "You guys are gonna have to head out early tomorrow morning to make it in time for the next show! I've almost got all your things together and I'll make sure your ride arrives on time!" she said nearly out of breath.

I sprawled out on the couch to try and get more cozy. The room filled with sounds of rustling and stomping as I closed my eyes. I eventually fell asleep at some point and opened my eyes to a busy morning.
