A/N: GUYS I WENT TO THE 5SOS SHOW IN SYDNEY THE OTHER DAY AND THEY WERE AMAZINGGGG!!

Luke's POV

My brother Jack invited the lads and I over to his for the fourth of July. He said that Maria was inviting her cousin and her friends. We all planned to head out around 1:00 since his house is a half hour drive and we needed to pick up Madisen, my new girlfriend.

FLASHBACK TO A MONTH BEFORE

I walked into Starbucks one night after dinner to meet up with Ashton to talk about Valerie and how to make it up to her for all the messed up things I did to her. We've been writing a whole bunch of songs about my current situation with her.

Ashton, Calum, Michael, and I were a band; we are 5 Seconds of Summer.

Heartache On The Big Screen: it's about how I ran out of time to get Val to forgive me.

Everything I Didn't Say: about how I've kept all the letters Val and I used to exchange and how I needed to say everything I haven't.

The Only Reason: about how I need to find a way to make it up to her and that I will never give up on her.

Never Be: I wrote this when Val and I were still together back in Sydney about how much I love her.

Anyways, I walked into Starbucks and ordered some coffee before sitting at a booth waiting for Ashton; he was late, as per usual.

I was using my phone, and then heard the door ring, meaning a new customer was walking in. I look up to see if it's Ashton, which it's not, it's a girl. She was fairly short with long auburn hair; she was beautiful. I didn't realize I was staring until she came up to me.

"Hi, I'm Madisen".

I snap back into reality to look up and see the girl standing in front of me.

L: Hi Madisen, I'm Luke.

M: Nice to meet you Luke, not to be rude or anything, but why were you staring at me?

L: Oh um, I'm sorry, I thought it was a friend of mine coming in, but it was actually you and I started daydreaming. I'm sorry for staring at you.

M: Oh it's no big deal, I was just curious.

L: Are you here with anyone?

M: Nope, just her to get a grip on thoughts. What about you?

L: I was supposed to meet a friend here an hour ago, but he's a no-show. Want some company?

M: Sure.

She sat down at the booth with me and we continued chatting.

L: So Madisen, what thoughts do you need to get a grip of?

M: Okay, well I just got out of a relationship, but I was with the guy for 3 years and caught him cheating and now I have no idea what to do.

L: Did you talk to him about it? Sometimes things look worse than they are.

M: Yeah, he admitted to it, he only cheated because I refused to have sex with him. I mean I'm sorry, but I'm not comfortable doing anything before marriage. Sue me.

L: Oh, I totally get it; I mean you want to save it for the person you'll spend forever with.

M: Exactly; finally someone who gets it. What about you? Any thoughts you need to get a grip of?
