STAR CITY, 2016
The Legends stepped off the Waverider at the exact place they'd left. The TARDIS materialized next to it and The Doctor stepped out.
Mick: What are we doing back here?
Rip: Savage has a timeship, courtesy of the Time Masters. The timeline is unclear due to our destruction of the Oculus, meaning...
Stein: Savage is lost to history.
Rip: Which is why I brought you all home.
Jax: Mission's not over, man.
Ray: Jax is right. We've lost Savage before. We'll find him again.
Rip: And then what? We have no way of killing Savage, particularly now that Kendra and Carter are in his possession. Assuming that they're still alive, which is highly unlikely.
Ray: So that's it? We're just giving up?
Rip: I'm on my way to the refuge to retrieve your younger selves and return them to the timeline. It will be as if you never left.
Sara: What, you think that we can just return to our old lives and then pretend like none of this ever happened?
Rip: That might be a tad difficult. I had to bring you back to May 2016, not January 2016.
The Doctor: It happens. I once dropped someone off in Aberdeen instead of Croydon.
Jax: Great, so what you're saying is, for the last five months, my mom probably thinks that I'm dead. Thanks a lot, man.
Sara: Okay, wait, why? Why the change of plans, Rip?
Mick: If you're getting back on that ship, we get back on that ship.
Mick poked him in the arm to reveal that Rip was in fact a hologram.
Rip: In truth, I never left it.
The Waverider began to take off.
Rip: I'm sorry for all that I've asked of you, and that it all came to nothing. I wish you all well.
The hologram vanished and the Waverider flew off into the Temporal Zone.
Mick: I never liked that guy.
The Doctor: So, I guess that's it.
Sara: What are you gonna do?
The Doctor: Got my TARDIS back. I'll go back to what I was doing before, flying around the universe, getting into trouble.
Sara: So, this is goodbye?
The Doctor: Don't think of it like that, Sara. You never know, I might pop back, visit you lot.
Sara: No, you won't.
The Doctor: Goodbye all.
The Doctor opened the TARDIS doors and stepped inside once more. He went over to the console and began flipping switches, eventually pulling the lever to take-off, leaving the others behind.
