"Miss Collins? Miss Collins?" "Huh!" I sprung awake. Everyone in the class began to laugh at me. I felt my cheeks get hot. "Thank you for finally joining us so can you tell m-" *BRIIIINNGG* Saved by the bell, thank god. "Hey what's your problem," my best friend Matt asked. "You've fallen asleep in class like four times in one week. That's not like you." I knew that it wasn't me too, but I don't know what's wrong. "I don't know I just am really tired and I haven't been getting a lot of sleep lately." I explained as we walked to our next period.

"Can anyone tell me how...." That's all I caught before I began to doze off. I dream in every class, but I dream the same thing. Paper airplanes just flying through the air. They float so peacefully and gently, without a care in the world. Flying aimlessly, with no destination just being free. I felt a tap on my shoulder, then a nudge and then a push strong enough to knock my chin off my hand. "Ow!" I whispered. I turned around to see that Matt was the one who did it. Thanks I mouthed. "Miss Collins, there is to be no talking during a test." Mr. Trent said. I looked down and saw a test that made no sense to me.

"Lucy? Wait up!" Matt called across the parking lot. I spun around and made my way through the crowd of anxious people running for the weekend. "Yeah?" I asked once I reached him. "Wanna come over to my house for a little while. My mom and dad had to take Conner the hospital to get his x-rays, so it would just be you and me." He explained. "Sure, but I should go home first and get some homework done and let my dad know." I said. "Okay, at least let me give you a ride home." He said hopping in the drivers seat. I took him up on his offer and got in the passenger side.

I quietly snuck into the house being sure not to be heard. As soon as I was in I tip-toed through the kitchen. "Looks who's finally homes." My dad slurred. I ran to my room before he could start talking to me. I saw a couple of empty beer bottles on the table which wasn't a good sign. My dad and mom got into a car crash due to him drunk driving, so now my mother is dead. I miss her so much if only she could see what Danny (I call my dad as Danny because he does not deserve to be my dad.) is now....a monster! "Get back here you little brat!" He yelled stomping up the stairs. "What do you w-want?" I stuttered. I was huddled in the corner which was not a good place for me to be right now. He drew his hand back and smacked me across the face. I whimpered but did not cry I knew it was not over. "Get up you worthless girl!" He shouted. I hurried and stood up before he kicked me. I balled his fist and I took a blow straight to the gut. I fell to the floor gasping for air but it was no use. "That'll tech you to run from me." He said and calmly walked out the door. My world went black.

White prices of perfectly folded paper airplanes fluttered through the sky, being carried by nothing but a gentle breeze. One by one the small planes sailed through the air, some doing loopy loops others gliding on nothing. I hold this image in my head not wanting to leave this peaceful wonderland.
