The pain slowly got more and more severe until suddenly Frisk gripped his chest
Asriel noticed this immediately. It was also noteworthy that Frisk was gripping his core and not his heart, a key distinction between a heart attack and problems with the soul.
Asriel drew Frisk's soul out of his body.
Frisk groaned. it was weak and dry, just as his voice was.
Asriel knew a temporary fix to this, though it came at a cost. Frisk wouldn't be able to use determination at ALL until he was able to get more, but it was either that or death, and Asriel made the call.
he used healing magic directly on the soul.
Asriel had tears running from his eyes as Frisk's eyes turned gray.
"Are you okay, Frisk?"
Frisk began to nod, but his body began to hurt all over. badly.
His determination numbed the pain. Without it, he felt everything his body was going through
It was painful to hear him fail to scream and cry because that only made it hurt worse.
Asriel lifted Frisk and ran. He ran as fast as he could, disregarding everything in his path. He didn't stop running until he was in hotland. He went in the lab and went into the abandoned true lab.
He knew that if he got a single drop of determination on himself, it was all over for him, but he didn't care. he grabbed a bottle and opened it as quickly as possible and grabbed the syringe, filling it completely.
Asriel took Frisk's soul and gave it multiple injections with determination and didn't stop until Frisk stopped crying, and it had a blinding red glow.
Asriel was able to calm down from his panicked state and take a second to think about what he just did and how dangerous it truly was. He didn't care. Frisk was okay.
He returned Frisk's soul to him
"Gee, I sure used a lot of that determination on you, huh? How are you feeling?"
Asriel looked around the room. it was noticably brighter with a heavy red hue. He looked back at Frisk, who's eyes were glowing unnaturally. It was blinding.
"let's get you back home"
Asriel picked Frisk up and draped him over his shoulder.
Frisk tried to speak but nothing came out.
Asriel carried Frisk back to the ruins. it was a long, painful walk, but he didn't mind.
"If i ever have to walk through the underground alone again, I don't think i'd be able to do it" Asriel said, out of breath.
Frisk nodded.
"I wish you could speak..." Asriel said. "Even with you here, it feels... Lonely"
"I'm sorry." Frisk tried to say, but he started coughing again. It gets worse every time he tries to speak
Asriel quickly set him on the ground and gave him CPR again. Asriel wondered if it was healthy to do it this often. He put this thought on the back burner for now.
When Frisk started breathing again, Asriel sighed.
They stayed silent the rest of the trip home
Asriel laid Frisk back on the bed and went to sleep on the floor
